A new track! Based on Mozart's Requiem...

Hey people. Just finished... Based on the theme in the 8th part in The Requiem.

Sounds quite good as far as standard trancers go. That clap/snare needs to go though - it just doesn't sound right at all. That pad in the break could also use some more release, it sounds a bit odd now.

Thanks... I thought the standard snare got a bit boring, and the pad... Bad combination of Strings and Choirs I guess :P
btw, what do mean when saying "as far as standard trancers go"?

Well, I meant it's not breaking any boundaries but it does the job it's intended to do quite well.

Any other comments? What do you say about the mix, sounds...

sounds good but i agree with mystery the clap overides everything...lower the volume and make it fit better...overall the sounds are good...the mastering is good ...the arangment is good...needs some work but im sure youll get there in the end....peace...

Thanks everyone. I started the mix anew, I think it's much better now. And rewritten the pad at the break...

Hi, I had a listen, and i really like what you've done here, its real nice, keep ploughing at it man, this could be made into a great hit, a constructive critism would be as other people have said, change the snare clap thingy so it fits, nice build up to peak, like to here your updated mix when its done

i like what you did, this is cool. im a classical player myself, and i think im pretty critical when it comes to ppl mixing classical music with modern day sounds...and you did it well mayn!


like someone said, keep workin at it, in 2 years ur sound will be great, im sure.

Well, for now, further advancement is beyond my knowledge... I really applied everything I know there.

None. I bought a pair of 130$ monitors a year ago... no acoustics, built-in sound card. But I worked my ass out this month (summer) and got like 700$... I think i'd invest it in better monitors and try to get someone to make my room acoustical

btw, i'm constantly updating the track, changing the balance here, adding some SFX there...

Sounds cool..imho it needs better kick and snare and better intro but I like what you have!!!

Get rid of that clap for defaint, defaintly change that intro, i dont like how that melody just bites it way in, other than that its sounds good some interesting stuff you could do to that so it doesnt sound so 'i wana be 98 or whatever'

That doesn't sound like mozart's requiem at all...I mean the pads...are like...adagio by Barber? Are you sure you're right about your influences ?

I think most of what you're referring to is more like personal taste rather than objective criticism...
Can you detail a little further about what you thought of the melody...?

I'm going to work on the track a little more tomorrow...

This was a lot better than what I made at 15. Haha keep up the good work. Not my style, but sounds clean and well.
