Hey SSU - Can we do a end of Summer party on the beach???

Most of you remember a few years ago how close we were to throwing down a TA party at Rockaway beach.....we got to the last stage of the permit only to get shut down....so we couldn't do it. What a bummer that was! But I think we should give it a second go. Maybe try getting a permit in Long Beach (hell it's a party on the beach everyday anyways out there) or maybe at a beach in Rhode Island. Anyways just throwing the idea out there.....Steven, Sheila, and Tae.....what do you guys think? We need to end this Summer with a BANG!!!

Here is the flyer.....man I wish this damn party happened!

Great idea!!!

Great flyer!!!

If you guys think this is possible I am willing to help in any way. A beach party would be so sicccck to end the summer with

i remember that flyer, as well as the varying discussions that were held. wow so long ago

how long do you think it would take to get a permit?

you need to apply for it at least 20 days prior to the event... getting a event permit wont be too hard but im not sure if theyll give out sound permits... i'll look into it.

Are sound permits in Jersey pretty easy to obtain?

Posted by yankeeBaby on Aug-09-2007 20:44:

how realistic is that though? well i dont claim to have any knowledge of this but i would think permits would be crazy hard to obtain on such a popular weekend, no? i mean im sure EVERYONE's gonna want to hit the beach.

i dont mean to be a naysayer, if it can work out that would be hella awesome. Itd def be great to have some kickass event that holiday weekend, we're in town so it would be awesome to have something to attend but other than that, beach, bbq or anything chills would be fab also

AUGH!!! Seriously...which beach on the Jersey Shore???

I say a NY beach all the way..don't we have some lawyers on this board that can help us out with all of this to figure out a loop hole or some shit to get this happening

and +1 for what kel said...a lot of folks do leave the area over labor day weekend...maybe the weekend after or something would be good cause its still warm out, but less people on the beach so maybe it will be easier to get a permit.

You know what???..I've been going on about outdoor events on beaches,,boats and parks etc since the winter...I've contacted promoters and Dj's and I have not had one single response...I've posted several threads on doing this kind of thing with very little response also...

That's fucking right Tae! I know we can pull this off.....it's just finding a way to get the sound permit that's going to be a bitch.

The way around the sound permit is easy my friend..What isn't easy is predicting the weather...

Posted by BitchBoyNYC on Aug-10-2007 02:34:

We can do this. I am going to speak to someone about permits. The reason we were denied the sound permit the first time was because it was going to be on B 116 St @ Rockaway. One of the more crowded locations. But still, It was even tough getting the regular permit. i remember going to the parks dept & applying for the permit. Then having to go back and sign an affadavi that there was going to be no alcohol. They wound up telling me that if we had a sponsor, they would give us a permit.

Let's get in touch with SWAMPER and ask him if we can use this site as a sponsor.

We'll call the event "Beachfest '07" Sponsored by TranceAddict.com

P.S. the person I am going to talk to about the permit, Well, it just so happens that his MOM is the one who issues the Pars Dept permits.

Let's keep our fingers crossed!!!!!!

SWEEET! What part of the shore is it on?

Posted by Uncle ED on Aug-10-2007 13:53:

South of Wildwood, but before Cape May....Palm Trees, etc
Nothing Fancy, Since Its Private (need Membership), I will ask him if I can "rent" it out...Dance floor is made of "Trex" decking with a huge tent, and the DJ set up would be on the same, but between the 2 bar "huts"....HUGE beach, and white sand.....

Thats one of the few nice areas on the Jersey Shore but how would everyone get there....isn't it like a 3 hour drive at least from the city? Other then that I would say its a great spot

Posted by Uncle ED on Aug-10-2007 14:19:

Let me check if its ok first...worry about the drive stuff if confirmed...hey its closer than RI..straight line down the GSP

Posted by phuzzyfish12 on Aug-10-2007 14:50:

True and if you are gonna go to the Jersey Shore that's were you would go. Aren't there NJ transit trains that go down there as well?

Posted by steven-neil on Aug-10-2007 14:52:

If you guys decide to do something don't mention Dj's or edm...When we did Rhode Kill we told the cops that we were having a band playing to celebrate my birthday...They left us alone for three days...

Tae and myself have spoke about this alot and we think we know ways around the Red Tape..If it's the cops that hand out the permits I suggest we do a fund raiser for the PBA...After all at this stage we just wanna primarily have fun and get our name out there rather than make money...

Just to give you an idea of the initial costs,,it cost us $3000 to put on Rhode Kill..

Posted by Uncle ED on Aug-10-2007 15:57:

Damm $3,000!!...was that spent on Mike and Brian?
I know my buddy gave the cops "free" membership to his bar...
The thing Is, I need to know when the shut off time is,etc...I think It might be 11pm....
