Problems with my PhotoSmart C3180...

Hi to all!!!.. Sorry if this isn't the correct section...
Just want to tell my problem and see if there is any solution...A friend of my mother lent me a PC and I bought recently a PhotoSmart c3180. The pc isn't good so when I wanted to install the software the computer didn't have the minimum requirements...Anyway, the printer was detected and I could print...But when I took out the usb cable so my sister don't touch the printer, the printer stop working (when I plug it again)...So... it appears in "my pc" icon like if there was a memory card inside the multifunctional (but there is nothing) and the when I double-click on it, nothing happens...
And fo you want to know more?... I broke the driver cd so I don't know what to do...But I kept the printer drivers...I have win98 and the operative systems only detects the scanner...
Let me know if I was clear as my english isn't so good...

you're not good with computers.

i fried a mouse once by unplugging it from the USB when it was on.

could be the problem. aka you're screwed.
