Metal. Death, black, folk.

ABBA, afghan folk music and loads of world music from labels such as Six Degree Records and Real World Records.

Prog rock, classic rock (usually downtempo and spacey stuff), jazz (again mostly downtempo), a little bit of ambient (FSOL and the like), a little bit of roots reggae. It depends alot on what I'm doing at the time. I have kinds of music that I only listen to at specific times of day - for instance I mostly like jazz late at night and rock during a sunny afternoon, Leftfield is for rainy days.

Prog Rock, Progressive Metal, Alt Rock, Indie, etc.

I rarely listen to much EDM outside of trance. Not because I don't like it, but because I generally don't want to search actively for it. Rock is a tad bit easier to get my hands on.

Just about everything else EDM related, but mostly house, breaks and chill-out.

I honestly pretty much 95% of the time listen to trance in my own time. Occasionally I will listen to classical, flim soundtracks. House and Techno sometimes..

House for me..

Posted by Faust_UA on Aug-11-2007 11:16:

Pink Floyd, ambient, chillout, pop, new age, sometimes instrumental or classical music.

I know it's still trance but Dark Psy and Dark progressive. It certainly is quite a change from normal full on psy or other trance... it scares the shit outta me as well which is good. If I accidentally just made up a genre with dark progressive I meen stuff like The Delta-Send in Send back and VA 9 Pills P.S. Any similar stuff people could recomend would be good.

Rock [indie, hard, classic] - Latin [groove, some salsa] - Jazz [downtempo, acid] - Pop [80s] - Reggae [the older stuff, dub] - Trip Hop - IDM - Hip Hop [underground] - Funk/Soul - Trance [old progressive, classics]

I've been "head blown" from trance for 5 years, so when I'm not producing or spinning techno or house...I tend to listen to a really broad range of music

Classic Rock like Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn...
theres an infinite amount of classic rock songs that keep me singing along and probably always will.
Ever since I started listening to trance I've sort of put aside my desire to listen to anything else. Recently classic rock has been making a come back. Too lazy to change the old trance cds out all the time and its classic rock that usually interests me at the point that I just turn on the radio.
I'm just a sucker for the classics... I mean the songs that I've enjoyed over the years. The ones that have a personal or sentimental value. there are albums from different times in my life that I no longerown that I wish I could pop in just to bring back the memories that they conjure. Like Weezer, Jayo Felony, Millencolin, Metalica.

I don't listen to trance but when I'm not listening to house I tune into some..
Ratpack, Chillout/Ambient, DnB, and some classic rock

Posted by Ted Promo on Aug-11-2007 17:37:

indie, synthpop, downtempo, trip-hop, eh, Tool, but then again, I don't really listen to much trance.

Posted by Spirit5 on Aug-11-2007 19:18:

Ambient/Down tempo/Chill music mostly. Actually, I listen to that stuff more than trance nowadays. If not that, then folkier pop stuff like Sarah McLachlan, Dido, Nelly Furtado (though her new stuff is dance/pop), Cat Stevens, stuff like that. Classic and progressive rock and oldies (like Motown).
