Smiley DJ A Really Powerful Uplifting Trance Mix

Evening
I think this set actually defines the term 'uplifting trance'
A couple of old school tracks in the set, with my fav four being Star for Me, Ying, Nightflight and Havannah.

Tracklisting:

Solarstone - Solarcoaster
Jose Amnesia - The Eternal [Nu-NRG rmx]
Mind One - Star for Me [instrumental mix]
Nickelson - Ying [Photo Project rmx]
Desire - Nightflight [Tom Porcell rmx]
Havannah - Havannah [Mike Shiver rmx]
Super 8 - Alba
Nu-NRG - Astralis
Airhead - Vortex [A1 Mix]
Super 8 - Cre8
Unknown Source - Crentus
Enmass - Seek You

I really do love this creation and would appreciate any criticism.

Song choice is great IMO, but the mixing is not so good in transitions. I am no DJ, just a huge fan of TRANCE music but could definitely tell beat mismatching going on between some of the tracks especially 1 and 2. Peace out!

Sorry I took almost a month to respond, but as promised heres my review.

One of the downsides of mixing a very specific style of music is keeping the listener entertained, hooked, and tuned into your set because if the track selection is chosen carelessly your mix can bore a hell of a lot of people if every track sounds the same like in your case.

Technically speaking, the beatmatching isnt good. You botch every transition and take away any chance of this set having any sort of decent flow. The programming is also in need of an improvement as well. I mean there are tunes here which are good in my book, but the order that you mixed them in doesnt compliment the build and overall progress of the set. All I hear are screeching synths. Although your eqing and volume leveling are fine as I heard no clipping at all. Just work on those two aspects I mentioned earlier and youll be on your way.

Returning to my discussion about mixing in a specific style I have to say that from a personal standpoint I think your track selection is ok. I enjoyed 6 out of 12 tracks featured below and by the two tracks below are missing some info:
Solarstone Solarcoaster (Airbase Remix)
Jose Amnesia - The Eternal [Nu-NRG rmx]
Nu-NRG - Astralis
Airhead - Vortex [A1 Mix]
Super 8 - Cre8
Unknown Source Crentus (Exertion Remix)

I suggest branching out and have some variety with your track selection instead of focusing on one element (Roland JP 8000) of uplifting trance and fix those technical errors. Practice, practice, practice!
