Vision dj booth

Posted by drEamer on Aug-13-2007 15:47:

the last ones i remember seeing were Blank and Jones......i like it better, for the most part, when the DJ's are in the booth...but i also understand that the smaller shows probably are better when the DJ's are on the dance floor

Posted by TranceNation1 on Aug-13-2007 20:32:

I dont like it some one about to get hurt

Posted by drEamer on Aug-14-2007 00:14:

theres alot of pushing and shoving going on near the front.....i dont like that, so i wont stay in that it for more than 30 mins or so......liked it much better with the DJ in the booth

What a surprise, Nick Warren smoking.

i kinda miss the 2nd floor booth. it was always cool knowing you could chill anywhere within a 5-foot radius of the booth or the bar behind it and it was pretty much a guarantee that you'd run into all the other TAs that were there that night.

I kinda do too.. although.. the floor is MUCH better for both pics and crowd interaction with the DJ.. so I would have to say the floor is better. And, we have our "place" by there too, right next to that bar.

Wheres cervy to shinny on this matter about
why the dj booth on the dance floor !

Posted by 17thfloorplumbe on Aug-14-2007 15:59:

There are several reasons the dj is on the floor.

A. most dj's that come to vision now require a little more space for their set-ups which the stage provides
B. The stairs above the booth were a liability to the people on them and the DJ
C. we can bring the dj to the stage very easily without them getting harassed by you guys =) (j/k.... but seriously.... ha)
D. The bar by behind the booth was causing serious problems. The crowd would get trapped there and no1 could move.

theres more but i have to run...
milo will finish this up...

another thing to me with the booth on the stage, it cuts what.....200 off the capacity? makes it super crowded everywhere else....especially for the bigger shows.....so for AVB, PVD..u know...those guys please put them in the booth!

certainly not...

Do you remember Tiesto in 2005 at vision??? or any big show with the DJ in the booth... it was just as packed on the main floor and the stage area was also very very packed.. and you had people trampling through trying to get to those stairs to the stage... the floor crowding is no worse... if anything its better because the floor now extends below the booth.

Also, we now use the stage for the plasma video screens instead of having that giant canvas block the middle of the 2nd floor.

we just have more room to eat nachos and chicken wings on the stage, thats why.

i can't remember where i saw this (acapulco maybe) but this clubs had a DJ booth on hydraulics on one side of the room and could move it up and down the wall to adjust anywhere along the way... i dunno if anything i just said made sense. but trust me it was bad ass.

I preferred the 2nd floor booth - gave MUCH more room on the dancefloor. plus it was kinda neat to look up at the DJ and see them....unlike on the 1st floor, if you're towards the "back" you can't really even see them. i dunno.

regardles, i've only stopped by because i just bought tickets for thanksgiving weekend to come back up to chicago...so i'm seeing if there's anything worth going to that weekend

cheers from the durty souf

I heard that Tiesto wont play at Vision b/c it a small
venue thats why he likes to spin at the congress theatre
instead and it holds more ppl ?

Will we see this happen to AVb moving to the Congress
theatre instead

I think you guys should have an alternate stage setup that you can switch around every other show. The 2 plasmas are getting a little old. All my pictures look the same just a different overpaid DJ standing in between them.

Oh man - when that fellow brought me Nachos during the Dekay set it was the first time in my life I've ever legitimately felt like a rockstar.

And I had so much ROOM! My god.... the room!

PS: Milo, did you get my email on Monday?
