http://www.djmag.com/index.php?op=top100dj

Top 100 DJs Vote 2007
Here it is - your chance to play a vital role in deciding the outcome of the most important poll in dance music.

DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs Poll is taken so seriously by clubbers, promoters and DJs worldwide for one reason - because it is a 100% public vote.

You can vote for any DJ, from the guy in your local bar to the big international superstars, meaning there is no better measure of which DJs are most popular on dancefloors across the globe.

Rank the DJs who've impressed you the most over the last year from 1 - 5 in the fields below.

Last Years Top 10:

1. Paul Van Dyk
2. Armin Van Buuren
3. Tiesto
4. Christopher Lawrence
5. DJ Dan
6. Ferry Corsten
7. Sasha
8. John Digweed
9. Above & Beyond
10. Deep Dish

I think there is going to be a lot of shake up in the top 10 this year....the top three will probably stay the same but after that I think we will see some new names.....top three will probably be

1. Tiesto
2. AVB
3. PVD

i am so surprised because my votes this year will be so different from last year

i find that Dj Mag's rankings, especially past the top 10-20 are absolute bollocks

TranceAddict's poll last year was way more competent, IMO

anyhow, this year my #1 is hands down Markus Schulz

I don't know how you can say its absolute bollocks.....as much as I dislike the whole voting for a DJ thing.....DJ Mag is giving you a truer picture of what the world likes and by comparison the tranceaddict poll only polls a very small number of people worldwide.

Posted by trancechaos on Aug-16-2007 13:18:

1. PVD
2. Eddie Halliwell
3. Preach
4. Marco V
5. Steve lawler

i want PVD to win three years in a row just so its done by someone else besides tiesto and also coz he kicks ass and i think he deserves it

Off top of head, DJs I wanna vote for:

. D.A.V.E. The Drummer (my man!)

. Chris Liebing (though I'm less than fond of his move to minimal)

. Adam Beyer (consistently kick ass sets all year!)

. Chris Liberator (wouldnt have though I'd mark him down, but after his WEMF performance... fuck, I'm all over him again!)

. Kai Tracid (just because I love this mother****** and want to see him stay in the rankings, would kill to have more sets from him and see him live one day... damn me for missing that night at the Docks! )

. Johan Gielen (still my trance man!! still will see this guy every time he's in Toronto... love what he does with his sets)

. DJ Murphy (my new "banging" techno man)

i didn't say *it is*, I said rankings below top 10-20, some of the names there were very puzzling

last year I looked at both, and the TA poll overall (not just the top 10) just looked more realistic

Posted by Paulinho on Aug-16-2007 14:07:

1. SvD
2. Eddie Halliwell
3. Giuseppe Ottaviani
4. Gabriel & Dresden
5. Hernan Cattaneo

I'm pretty sure its because of demographics. DJ Mag is a british based magazine, whereas TA is north American?

Posted by ChemEnhanced on Aug-16-2007 14:14:

IMO....the 20-100 spots on the DJ Mag is the most interesting part of the voting....the top 10 is pretty predictable with maybe one or two surprises. Its the 20-100 spots that give us a better view of who the up and comers are and what the Electronic Music World is listening to.

that I agree with! that's why I even looked at it
but still, Dj Mag's 20-100 spots had some odd names here and there, that's why I said I found it rather puzzling

Jeff, you're probably right with the demographic part! Dj Mag is more European, rather then strictly British
