worst moment in trance history?

what do you think was the worst thing that happened in the history of trance? For example : the overplaying of iio- rapture on the radio...mine is the fucking stupid commercialization of riva - stringer by that stupid idiot danni minogue. WHY WHY RIVA, WHY? i love you so much but why did you let this happen to my favorite trance tune ever? she wasnt even the hot sister either! you should have got kylie dammit! anyways i hate that song and i hate the fact that non trance listeners think that song is the shit because they just heard the vocal remix and never the original

Exclamation

when PPK - resurection was slapped onto every 'club/trance' CD there was...

and on every advert!

PPK isnt really trance...more house

Posted by D_G on Apr-20-2002 10:17:

When Gouryella split up and when ferry's music became shite (ie. his remixes as of late... they have sucked!)

when people thought darude was trance!!

that must have given trance a bad name

Posted by Jah on Apr-20-2002 12:57:

when darude whips out that "gold" record on feel the beat... argh!!! i just wanna crack him. i know it aint trance but like the dude above me says most people associate with it so.....

also wookie i know what you mean i love stringer so much so ive decided to ignore its ifamous commercialisation sucks tho if danni didnt fuck around with it it would be so classic now to me its still a classic but i dunno...

When DJ Jean played PPK - ResuRection (Fart mix) @ Trance Energy in Februari.

Posted by Flec on Apr-20-2002 13:26:

just a quick question for you guys, if darude - sandstorm is not trance then what is it? Paul van dyk has even played that track

i think the fact that it just became really popular and put on the radio makes you want to disasosiate(sp? hehe)with the track.

Worst Moment in history was ATB after 9 pm till i come. He made shit and then more shit and even more shit and dragged the great name of trance down.

The media's attempt to kill it in 2000.

Posted by wookieslut on Apr-20-2002 20:20:

oh what also bugs me is when ferry had to "domesticate" his new single punk for the U.S.A. because i guess he thought we nedded something more poppy and as a result he added those fucking stupid ass lyrics "digital/did you do it punk!" GOD IT RUINS THE SONG!

Unfortunately that is the case Wookie. Why do u think that so many americans in particular love Oakie..and credit him for bringing them into the trance scene?? Because of his commercialism....I still think he's great.. not the greatest...but he has made it mainstream somewhat. This is the case with americans.... everything for them is commercialized. If it isn't....it won't make it. Same went for Hip Hop, Punk, Rock'n'Roll, blues, jazz, "RAVES"...virtually anything u can think of... american's have commercialized and made manistream.

Damn bloody yanks.

The worst moment in trance for me was the creation of EuroTrance. They should've kept that shitty EuroDance shit separate from Trance forever, becuase now there are actually soooo many shitty vocals over amazing beats...I'm convinced and focred to like them.

well i think that oakey is popular in the U.S. just because of word of mouth...everyone thinks he is the only dj in the world sometimes just becuase hes the only one who has enough money to advertise so massively in the U.S. and tour so often. And amazon.com and cdnow.com do a good job of advertising his perfecto cds on there sites. Alot of people i know go "hey have you ever heard voyage into trance by paul oakenfold"...its an old cd, not really trance, more goa, but they dont know that and just associate out of date references with oakenfold...Oakey is fucking awesome now, i dont know what happened but his mixing skills are finally back. He is one of the best djs if not the best dj in the world due to his ability to spin almost every genre of electronic music from breaks to goa. hes quite an amazing producer as well and i have a lot of respect for his works on perfecto too.

ewww........dare i say it.......sandstorm & zombie nation

JUST LET THEM DIE DAMNIT

Posted by biznology on Apr-20-2002 23:46:

ill say that the worst AND best moment in trance was the creation of tranceaddict.com...

it singlehandedly unloaded a wealth of information and badass tunes on an unsuspecting populace, but created a bunch of people that want to know everything about trance(or already think they do).

when, in reality, 98% of the world doesnt give a rats ass about the genre...and i think we are all guilty. long live know-it-alls! late/
