Uplifting
How boring can a direction of trance be nowadays; they only covering the old classix (Madagascar, Heaven Scent, Flay Away). Lets bury it officially!!!! I mean 2 years back there wre still some good tunes, but now its only a bunch of uninspired crap with using the same formula. Armin still plays it lol. Boring fart!!! Often horrible vocals are included for getting more commercial(look new John O Callaghan sound the same like Holding On 2 Nothing 3 years back or that crap Dash Berlin tune). Not talking about that Filo & Peri anthem tune lol.
Lets look into the future without that generic crap. People like Guy Gerber, Chaim, Deadmau5 and Pole Folder show a nice approach of nice trance, which is goin back to the roots like KLF started it in the 80s.
Those artists you mentioned are not really trance.
I feel the same way about JOC and ALy and Fila, and such nowadays, but there are a load of good trance producers out there.
Why don't you check out productions by:
Miikka Leinonen
Alexander Popov
Daniel Kandi
Airwave/Lolo
Kamil Polner
Static Blue
All Dj Shah aliases especially Global Experience
Airbase
All of the above have released a lot of good solid trance in the recent past.

Theres plenty of good, non-formulaic trance out there!

To be fair the Cosmic Gate Remix of Fly Away is an absolute monster. But on the whole i agree remixing classics is just silly and wrong. Leave the great tunes as they are

Honestly the number of good uplifting tunes I heard this year is shockingly few. The very few good uplifting producers these days are Marc Mitchell (he produce way too little though
), Beetseekers and some of his finnish friends.
Best uplifting tune so far of the year is imo still: John 00 Fleming & Wizzy Noise - Endelexia (Beetseekers remix).
can anyone top this tune? feel free.
The one and only Ishkur!!

'Let's bury Uplifting Trance...'
Isn't it sad we say that today about a style of music we loved once?
I'd say it's not the right time to 'bury' Uplifting Trance - but it's the time to think about our own expectations.
There still are good tracks, and new talented producers are coming up.
Perhaps just the time is over when we could follow blindly the 'big names' and the tracks they showed to us. We have to keep our eyes open ourselves, and to think ourselves whether we like a track that's currently played our we don't - but it isn't the right time to give up this style.
Just to add the name 'Sunny Lax' - a producer (and remixer) who shows, how Uplifting can sound today

| Originally posted by isoterra i don't remember posting that haha i've tried to get into beetseekers several times but their stuff (or his stuff?) has never grabbed me at all. i can't say much bad about it, just i can't really say much good about it either.. its more like background music than stuff i can actually sit up & listen to i prefer uplifting with strong, powerful leads. and i guess it's hard to come up with leads like that that don't sound like they've been used a hundred times before.. so i think it's inevitable that alot of people won't enjoy the big melody sound actually, just this second i've remembered another uplifting tune from earlier this year i've recently been liking alot, it's called 'parade' by vodka. it's not a million miles away from digital blonde's style but more euphoric & not as dark, and sounds quite fresh see if you can check that one out |
