Progressive Fundamentals: The Melting Pot

The name of my set comes from the different genres Ive mixed together which include electro (track 1 only), prog. house, prog. trance, techno, chillout (track 6 only) and a little hint of tech house if you listen carefully for certain familiar elements in track 7. By the way the edit on that track starts with the original and then breaks down into the primavera mix after the break. Youll also notice that I build up and down twice in this set but not drastically, just enough to cool you down like a splash of water after Coconut and then I build again after that track until the end of the mix, hence twice! Let me know what you guys think of this one. Peace.

Tracklist:
1) Pitch Black - Melt
2) Subway Journey
3) Nick K - Undefined
4) The MFA - The Difference It Makes
5) Antidote - Freeze Me
6) Ross McGrath Coconut
7) Marc Marzenit Trozitos De Navidad (Primavera Remix) (edit)
8) Gui Boratto - Atol
9) Nikola Gala - Blue Impulse
10)Global Experience - Madras
11)Stephen J Kroos Formalistick
12)Jens - Psycho Strings (Rainy Remix) (edit)
13)Paul Kalkbrenner - Ick Muss Aus Dit Milieu Heraus
14)DJ Remy Wink
15)UK Gold Turn Around

Well I have to say at the very least this tracklist comes as somewhat of a suprise from you - but it looks great, and your work is generally all-star quality, so I look forward to having a go at this later this afternoon.

Edit: For some reason, the download link isn't working for me...

Yeah I know it's a bunch of stuff that has been spun by the househeads already but I wanted to have a shot at it since those tracks have been catching digital dust on my pc for a while. On the upside there's five tracks from '07 and a few from '06 that keep the freshness value up, lol. Also thanks for your other comment but I'm far from an all-star.

I just tested it and it works fine for me. I'm sorry you couldn't download it.

Really enjoyed this mix, mate. Nice mixing, and nice tune selection. I've been listening to more and more progressive lately, so this fits the bill nicely. This will be on replay at work today.

It's burned to CD and ready for vacation, sir.

Any more takers? Last push for this mix everyone. I thought I did a great job on this one.

Downloaded this for an early morning chill session, certainly set the mood and then some. Love the progression towards the 36 minute mark, then it starts banging. Certaintly enjoyed this mix.

I loved this mix, played it through a few times now. It's nicely structured and builds up nicely - especially towards the end after the 30 minute mark.

Only gripe I have (and it's only a small one), is the transition between the first two tracks - just seemed a little sudden that's all.

What's the tune that kicks in around the 25 minute mark as this is pure quality. And I also loved the very last tune too (UK Gold Turn Around) - I thought the vocals were very different.

So I'll be keeping this one for the after-parties I think - cheers

Your descriptions sounds interesting. I want to hear what you did with the chillout track. Downloading...

The flow of the mix was just like you described, it had two peaks to it. I was not expecting to like any of the songs, but to my surprise I did like a couple and that included the chillout track. I think the chillout track was my favorite of the mix. Good job on the mix.

Gave this another listen at work this morning. It's actually a relaxed Friday at work for a change, and this mix fit the bill perfectly. Just an excellent, excellent mix here.
