The new Maven controller

still exclusive for sasha or is out for the public?

Hmmm. Isn't that Sasha's custom Midi Controller? However, I don't recall his looking like that, but I haven't seen pictures of it in a while so I could be mistaken.

Are you trying to say that it's getting a commercial release to consumers?

I think it's a revised version of the first one. Found it on the Bedrock board but there was no other info with it.

my guess is the fender telecaster knobs werent cutting it for him

also i think his hardrive, processor, and sound card are housed inside so he could have updated that as well...

Um, last time I saw, Sasha was hauling around an iMac... I don't think the guts are in the Maven.

i dont think they are in the iMac screen either, at least not guts that are beefy enough to run ableton super smoothly (10,000rpm HDs with huge capacities for all the tracks, fast processors, pimp sound card etc) nor have I seen a tower...

There's no video out on the back of the maven. I've seen it up close and personal and there's 100% for sure no video out on the back of his old version. Based on that it's very clear that he does have some form of tower running the software.

Why in gods name would he need a video out if he has an iMac?



You can control everything Blake mentioned possibly being included via Firewire or USB just fine.

The iMac is tower less, everything he needs (hard drive, input/output, etc) IS the screen

edit // Rob I think he's talking about a video out for the Ableton GUI...

I don't think anyone was saying that it wasn't - if anything, I assumed Blake meant all of that was possibly in addition to the iMac that obviously exists, and was setup within the Maven in the hopes of engineering a more versatile and reliable machine.



Edit: Bas, what I'm saying is why would he need one when you already have an iMac...

I'd hope Sasha just has to plug that shit in and roll with it.

They should just start selling it commercially. Then we'd all be happy!

The one on the left seems to be his new one, while the one on the right is his old one. Nice...I like it.

BTW...he always has a Macbook Pro Laptop set up as well...on the side that he doesn't touch...maybe that does something as well.

Anyone have any guesses as to what the 2 smaller faders above each of the track faders are?

If you go and watch the video on his site from Womb, his tour manager is setting up the mixer, and he plays around with those two faders and it does this kind of beat-repeat effect. Might be used for controlling sample faders too, or ableton racks.
