Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Aug-20-2007 23:42:

im serious you bunch of arseclowns. day in day out we see threads on all manner of shitty, pop bullshit crappy shows written for 5 year olds.

get into BSG, you won't be disappointed. its not like regular scifi, i promise.

its this kind of peasantry that leads to scifi having a shit name and shittier tv shows.

Im going to agree to a point as much as i love RDA, i really love Ben browder and Claudia Black too

BSG is one of the worst sci fis.

how so? are you a cretin? dont be a cretin. BSG molds everything important in cinema into a finely-crafted masterpiece.

coming from melbourne and being a cretin goes hand in hand just like pedophilia in tasmania, it cant be helped infortunately.

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Aug-21-2007 01:22:

but i dont come from tasmania, and you haven't answered my question.

Posted by Dj_Es-Dva on Aug-21-2007 01:24:

I answered it, by not answering

Have you seen the original BSG?

yeah, when i was little it was on TV. was ok when i was a kid, but certainly nothing compared to the modern-day masterpiece.

Time Magazine's 2005 tv series of the year.

quote:

Most of you probably think this entry has got to be a joke. The rest of you have actually watched the show. Adapted from a cheesy '70s Star Wars clone of the same name, Galactica (returning in January) is a ripping sci-fi allegory of the war on terror, complete with religious fundamentalists (here, genocidal robots called Cylons), sleeper cells, civil-liberties crackdowns and even a prisoner-torture scandal. The basic-cable budget sometimes shows in the production, but the writing and performances are first-class, especially Edward James Olmos as the noble but authoritarian commander in charge of saving the last remnants of humanity. Laugh if you want, but this story of enemies within is dead serious, and seriously good.

unparalleled goodness

Im curious to know what you thought of Farscape?

havent seen enough of it to judge. all i could tell was that it was pretty different. never detected a grand, epic storyline though so not sure it is for me. but it certainly wasn't offensive like stargate

Posted by gumble on Aug-21-2007 02:17:

i posted some pics of more genetic diseases...

without warning its hardly fair to open up a thread to be greeted by them.

with all the scifi stuff, im not into any of it. ive never made it through an episode of startrek, stargate, firefly or this battle star galactica one. they all are boring, and i like to generalise and then discriminate.

they are poop.

cretin gumble, cretin

Posted by Teflon_Teapot on Aug-21-2007 06:19:

some friends of mine rave about it, but i have never really gotten into any sci-fi series so at the moment its not better than top gear

Posted by Lord Soth on Aug-21-2007 10:53:

I am very disappointed to see pkcraistlin having to fight soo hard to justify what is arguably one of the best sci-fi series ever created. What makes it better is that it is based on a series going back to the early 80's and can finally cinematise the show the way it deserves.

I think stargate, farscape, star trek and even for some B5, have their place for those of you who don't really appreciate what sci-fi is actually capable of acheiving.

I'm with you pkc on BSG, long live the cylon!!!!

haha. lord soth always did bow before raist. especially in quake 3

Posted by Lord Soth on Aug-21-2007 11:06:

Yeah, may have lost some games in quake 3 but never refused to pay a bet, like some I know.

Lord Soth would have kicked Raistlin's arse early on if he wanted to. He felt sorry for him so let him live. Oh, long live the Cylons!!!!!

I just wanted to jump in to say the new series of BSG is seriously one of the greatest TV shows produced. Even if you're not a sci-fi fan, it's got awesome acting, great and complex storylines and fantastic twists and turns. Invest some time getting into this and you'll love it.

Posted by Darkarbiter on Aug-22-2007 23:54:

I loved stargate, I loved battlestar galactica nearly as much and farscape is alright. I'm a cretin too!

Posted by Fledz on Aug-29-2007 12:52:

Seen them all, loved them all.

Waiting for new seasons to start. Fuck waiting for it on shitty Channel 7, 10 whatever...
