Silverlight is Microsoft's take on interactive web content (think "flash" by Microsoft.
This plug-in is one of the most exciting releases by Microsoft to date.

Flash/Quicktime eat your heart out...
Seriously - check out the video size, resolution and quick-streaming... By far the best video experience yet (no more "small", "medium" or "high" downloads!).

I'm curious to see how dedicated MS will actually be to keeping this cross-browser/cross-platform. I think they are helping the Mono project in porting this over to Linux, but I'm still doubtful on if they will give it the support it needs.
I really wish MS would realize that their OS is not their "best product" anymore - Vista is a joke. But, realize that their strength are things like
- Office
- Visual Studio
- .NET / C#
I dont hate Microsoft, I just really dislike Windows (XP isnt too bad, Vista is just a fuckup), and wish that MS would make Linux versions of their stronger products. I like Office, I think Visual Studio is a great IDE to work in. the ASP.NET is great, the .NET platform as a whole is enjoyable to work with, C# is a strong language, and I gotta admit - Office is a solid suit, and Office 2007 made report-writing last year at school for me a much more enjoyable expierence.
Curious to see whats going to come from Silverlight - but still doubting how well (if at all) it'll be working under Linux/Unix.
THANK YOU KIND SIR!!!!
