Snowboards!

I know its still summer, but its the best time to get good boards at cheap prices. I just got myself a new Nitro Team board. Have seen some good feedback on it and it has better response than the one I've been riding (an Atlantis board). I'm so excited, it's a shame theres no snow around or else I would've gone from the store to the mountain.

Here's my new baby:

Still haven't decided what bindings I'm gonna buy for this upcoming season. I've been looking at some Ride ones. As far as boots go, I'm planning on getting some with the BOA lacing system, I'm tired of having to take my gloves off and re-tying the laces every couple of hours.

Any of you guys getting new gear for this season?

I've only ever seen snow twice

Once in Amsterdam and once in England

No snowboarding for Sushi.

Well you can imagine my first time on the snow, coming from the caribbean, it was quite the spectacle. I've never been so sore in my whole life. I think I spent the next day in bed 'cuz I could barely walk.

I'm spending some money cuz all I had was used stuff since I was still learning last couple of seasons. This season though I wanted some stuff that would let me hone my skills more.

I've got a permanently mangled knee from skiing so no snowboarding for me either, also no dancing either which really sucks.
Not missing out on much, except maybe a lot of pain.

No dancing? Damn, you must have stacked it pretty badly

Yeah, except for in a glass, me and ice don't get along too well. I can't even remember how many times I cained myself just on icy sidewalks in the UK. Once I was leaving a club (ok, yeah, obviously wasn't anywhere near sober ), and wearing a hoody, with my hands in the pocket in the front. Slipped, tried to whip out my hands to stabilise myself/break the fall, and tore out the pocket completely

It was funny until the next morning, anyway :/

How did you mangle your knee?

Posted by Lilith on Aug-27-2007 06:33:

I fell over skiing in NZ, it bent the wrong way, I screamed and got carried off, rest is fairly blurry after the morphine. Mostly miss dance though because it's something I'd always done, I did ballet since I was about 6, jazz ballet, ballroom, latin and so on through my teens and early 20's. It's functional enough and doesn't hurt, just doesn't hold up to anything extremely strenuous for a long period of time, then it hurts.

I know, right?

All through my childhood, I see all your god damn American media, with all the kids having fun in the snow. Having snowball fights. Making snowmen.

It mad me sad at first, but then angry.

Now I fantasize about this:

Fuck you all, and your stupid snow.

While you keep yours open? Maybe it'll just fill with snow, and then you'll talk, but snow will come out instead, and then you can just MAKE FUN OF ALL THE OTHER KIDS THAT DON'T HAVE SNOW.

*Runs away crying. Snowless.*

Google Maps won't give me directions.

Can I borrow your boat?

Pffftt, compass.

I've got a pretty good sense of direction. I mean, all I gotta do is head south, right?

It'll be fine.

if you reach the south pole by mistake, all directions will point to the north. you will be disoriented without a compass.
