AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm Gonna Break Something!!!

Ok heres the deal
I've decided to record my demo CD
First of all let me know what do you think of my tracklist:

01. DJ Tiesto - Lethal Industry [Original Mix]
02. DJ Albert Vs. Precision - Say Yes [Katana Remix]
03. Mark Norman - Overkill
04. M.O.R.P.H. - Maximum Overdrive [Benicio Remix]
05. Atlantic Ocean - Waterfall 2002 [Woody Van Eyden Remix]
06. Blank And Jones - Nightclubbing [Wippenberg Remix]
07. Ian Vahn Dahl - Will I [Flutlicht Remix]
08. Rank 1 - Awakening
09. Eon - Pocket Damage
10. Ayumi Hamasaki - M [Above And Beyoned Remix]
11. Vincent De Moor - Fly Away [Generation X Remix]
12. Three Drives - Sunset On Ibiza [Above And Beyond Remix]
13. Alibi - Eternity [Thrillseekers New Horizon Mix]

Second of all
the mix between track 2 and 3 always somehow gets fucked
even though I remember the pitch because I did it like a million times
I can never get pass track 3 and I stop the recording feeling like I wanna throw the damn mixer

Anyway
Can someone fill up spot 3 for me
02. DJ Albert Vs. Precision - Say Yes [Katana Remix]
03.
04. M.O.R.P.H. - Maximum Overdrive [Benicio Remix]

Maybe something that will be easier?
or gimme an advice on how to mix them.

ah thanx i got the fullv ersion 2
wanted vinyl maybe its the cd thats causing you problems then?
i know NOTHING about djs of cds but isnt the pitch meant to be really inconsistant amongst others?

Posted by hapamoto on Apr-22-2002 02:30:

don't give up... i say you just keep practicing until you can master that transition... wat if u want to spin it live some day but you feel you can't mix them, then u'll never get that transition.. i say u keep at it!

Overkill/Return to eden has been out a while, I've had it for months. I know they have it at www.only-djs.com and probably other places as well

dude, just find a good place to slam the mix in. You get a free
"Get out of a bad mix with a slam in card"
for each set you do live or recorded. If you have to do it twice, then you need to know your records better or have another trick up your sleve to mix. Like a spin back or mix during a transition state.

one thing to know if you want to mix clean.... you dont put it on a certain pitch and let it ride .... you have to adjust the pitch through about the whole mix your moving the pitch slightly just to make it perfect through out that takes practice practice ....most djs beat match it and let it sit and mix for less the a min and it will sound ok ..but adjusting your pitch through out the whole mix you can lengthen your mixes for minutes...thats what i do and people tell me i mix really clean now .... where you can even tell whats the new song comming in...but i suggest you to do that ..that will fix the problem that some songs u cant just mix with out adjusting it while mixing...cuz bpms always change through out the beat... and make sure you mix on each major snare on a 16 or 32 beat...then you usulally will have no problem mixing any songs =)

Posted by Scorchio on Apr-23-2002 13:17:

Hehe
Thats what I do
I dont set it to a perminant pitch but I remember how much I need to lower to get it matched
but I do correct it.

Posted by t0ast! on Apr-23-2002 13:44:

i really should try that out...i've run into a couple problems by just beatmatching and leaving the pitch alone as i mix. especially with fire & ice - souvenir de chine, which i'm convinced actually slows down at the end... (i mix with mp3's for now, in case anyone was wondering....i use an external mixer tho, and no beat counters)

Same thing with Pulsar 2002 [Original Tea Mix]
Always speeds up and down
