Why do DJs get so much shit for playing something that is not new?

I personally think that, yes, DJs should play mostly new stuff and great songs that just came out, but at the same time I occasionally enjoy hearing old tracks or tracks even from a year ago. I personally always enjoy hearing veracocha-carte blanche. Please explain to me why people talk mad shit about djs that play certain songs that are outdated?

lol i guess those people are either ignorant, or just don't have a clue.. coz when i play sets, i'll pick up anything which goes well after a track, or classics which i know the crowd will like..
hehe i remember playing
Brothers Love Dubs - Mighty Mind (Sabres of Paradise Mix) last year lol... that track is ages old... but noone can tell da difference lol
