Good places for house music this labor day weekend

I am new here and I do not know the scene so where do I go on this labor day weekend for some good house....Friday/Saturday

What is a good day at MJQ for house?

Also being a single male I am wary of the ass groping shirtless gay dudes lol...so dont wanna blunder into a gay club...which is what wetbar is I guess

Advise pls!

Dude, don't be a hater like that. That's going to get you nowhere on this forum. Some of the best events are at WetBar. Get over it. That is the nature of the dance music scene ANYWHERE. Besides, if you can get over the whole gay thing, you'll find that a lot of them are really good, fun people.

Oh boy...I did not mean it like that at all...I have nothing against gay ppl...and some of my close friends are gay...that was not what I was sayin...but anyway...I guess things do get lost in translation...now pls back to the basic problem....house music

i love the "i have friends who are gay"/ "i have friends who are black"/ etc......

haha like you need to justify something that makes you unconformable.

maybe not you specifically, but i love it when i hear it out and about.

FYI...i live right beside piedmont park...it cannot get gayer than that and my neighbors are gay men....being a man i know how other men think....gay ppl who r your friends are swell and fun....its the strangers .... and jus cos they r gay it does not mean they are not men....meaning they hit on you shamelessly, ask how a woman feels when i stare at her and undress her in my mind(admission of guilt hehe) ... that's the part that makes me uncomfortable not the fact that they r gay

edit: Now can we please not discuss this cos really its my problem and can somebody please help me out with where I can find some good house music playin on friday or saturday night...i beseech thee!!!! dammit

on Monday check out this:

Earthtone, Newclear and P'cheen are doing it in the park..
Coan Park off Josea Williams Dr. near Kirkwood
Noon-dark
BYOB (no glass please)
Smoked pig
Slammin' music

*no flyer for this, but my gf and i went on memorial day it was an awesome time, bring a blanket to sit on or chairs, a cooler, a dog...it's nice. you can pay the guys from pcheen a few bucks and eat on what they're grilling too - excellent fucking food.

As to answer one of your initial inquiries, MJQ no longer has a "house night" that I'm aware of. Going on Saturday isn't much different from going to anywhere else, it's just a little darker and dirtier... but drinks are WAY cheaper =D

They have what I think is called a Brit-pop night on Wednesday (feel free to correct me, someone who knows for sure..) that plays house mixes and it was actually alright the time we went. It was about a year ago though.

Thanks for the tip, exposureshow. I'll have to check some of those out.

I'm still up for Jittery Joe's this Sat, though. I'll try to get some fellow TAs for a carpool...

The earlier portion of our girls night out dropped by Midcity Cafe, that's really cool what they have going there. Kinda hard to find a place to sit and chill, though =\

You should come by and check out what were attempting in your back yard!
There are lots of places to sit and chill in side and out. Even if it's on your way to midtown, take a b line west a little from l-ville past the mall and check it out!

Yeah, I went and saw Tom d, and Chris at Mid City, really nice place, and I am sure to go again, when I am not keeping it OTP Were trying to keep a regular Friday night thing and some Saturdays permitting scheduling and DJ's willing to spin! Were also thinking of grilling out since the restaurant in the center behind the store is not staying open past 9. Did a little grill and mix session tonight, it was fun. Thinking of something like a donation to the burger fund if people want to partake in some delectables from the grill.

cheers,

E
