GTA 2 is still the best game of all time.

disagree. The only bad GTA in the whole series.
I spend a good portion of my early years on this game. [Dreamcast]
I consider this game a classic.

| London, 1961 Released on December 31, 1999, Grand Theft Auto Mission Pack #2: London, 1961 is a freely distributed mission pack, or expansion pack, to Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto Mission Pack #1: London, 1969.[3] Like GTA: London, 1969, it uses the same game engine as Grand Theft Auto. As the name implies, the game takes place in London in the year 1961, eight years before the events that took place in GTA: London, 1969. The expansion includes new missions, 22 new vehicles, a new cutscene, and a new multiplayer deathmatch map based upon Manchester. The 1961 setting makes this mission pack the earliest GTA game chronologically. Unlike GTA: London, 1969, this game is only available for PC, as it is downloadable freeware. At just 7MB, GTA: London, 1961 requires GTA: London, 1969 which, in turn, requires Grand Theft Auto. GTA: London, 1961 seems to be the least known chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series, most likely due to its inconspicuous download location and dependence on word of mouth[citation needed]. It can also only be played with the original GTA London, 1969 disc; it does not work with the version included in the Grand Theft Auto: The Classics Collection pack. |

By the way, this thread was started because two weeks ago I downloaded GTA 2 FOR FREE off the Rockstar Website, and I'm currently addicted (for the second time).
WANG CARS FTW!!!
I missed that one, also I didn't play GTA: London 1961.
best game of all time? havent heard a call that wrong since hitler said "how hard can those ruskies be?"
imo, best to worst.
1. Vice City
2. GTA I
3. GTA: London 1969
4. GTA: San Andreas
5. GTA III
6. GTA II
I like both methods, top-down and 3D. I find GTA III and II a bit too dark, with 3 being somewhat interesting (although the sandbox gameplay gets tedious way faster the other games) while II being not enjoyable at all.
I never really got into it.
GTA 1 and then new ones ftw!
We cant compare top-down and 3D.

3D absolutely destroys the top down view. Dont get me wrong; old school GTA is a good time, but there were too many times when I crashed directly into an oncoming building because I didnt see it coming.

I just learned theres a GTA: London 1961. ![]() ![]() http://www.rockstargames.com/gtalon...ntro/index.html Why didnt anyone tell me this? Im guessing its an expansion for the PC version. And you must have it in order to play. /buzzkill |

To those who enjoyed the topdown version, wouldnt it be bad ass if GTA4 had some type of arcade or kwik-e-mart where you could go in and play London: 1961, 1969, GTA one and two.
That would soooo be a clean ass move by Rockstar if they actually went and pulled this off. I only wish.

The only advantage of the top down view was how fun it was to kill people and cause chaos with it...gave it a more funny view i guess.
GTAIII is probably my fav, and the one I spent most time playing.
It was the first 3D version, and I absolutely loved the colouring in the game. I know its weird to point that out, but something about how they did the shading and textures/colours just really stands out, and makes it feel more real to me. Vice city was an acid trip gone wrong.
Hell I love whole series and reminds me need play GFA SA on my day off.
its not the best game ever but i prefer the second one to the first one san andreas is my favourite
