7 portuguese teams. 1 draw. 6 defeats.

This was probably the worst week of european football ever for our clubs. Though to be fair, all the opponents except Hammarby were already too hard in theory.

Posted by nettwerk on Sep-21-2007 01:04:

Nevertheless, I was surprised at Belenenses only losing 1-0 at Munich. The rest... not counting Braga, was expected.

Won't even bother looking at this until the quarter or semi-finals. And if Bayern don't win, they don't deserve to be in Champions League next year either.

Posted by Ian on Oct-10-2007 20:48:

Meh. Was hoping to get tickets to the Bayern match but all the Bolton ones are reserved already, and theres about 3000 bolton fans who've bought tickets in the Munich fans for the sake of being there.

Bayern 2-2 Bolton

so damn proud to be a fan tonight

Posted by Dervish on Nov-21-2007 19:04:

Hell of a result that Ian. Congrats

If you look really close a week tomorrow at the Atletico Vs Aberdeen game you might see that <<< ugly mug staring back at you. Can't wait!

If we get anything from it I swear I'm getting a tat!!!

We have one of Birminghams young lads Slone Aluko (sp) nippy bugger but a bit lazy getting back though. But reckon he could be pushing for a place in the Engerland setup given time, hell of a nice touch.

Had a good go during our draw with Lokomotiv (just shelled out 30 million on players). Should have beaten the bastards too.

Posted by Dervish on Dec-05-2007 17:54:

Back from the game. Have to say we lost but was excellent crack. Only sour note was the Spanish Police nearly killing some of our fans.... including (ironically) our chief of security and some undercover cops.

Basically some Atletico fans chucked flares at some dons fans outside a pub, one I had just left (!!!), then the cops laid into them.

The club's security chief, former policeman John Morgan, witnessed the mayhem.:

quote:
It was disgusting and horrific. I saw a child of about 10 being hit with a baton and women were also struck.

quote:
The Spanish officers were kicking into grounded fans. It was a sustained and unprovoked attack.

Neil McDougall, a former chairman of the Association of Aberdeen Supporters' Clubs, saw Dons fans hit by flares. "It was terrifying to watch," he said.

quote:
The police behaved like animals. They came charging up the street, hitting out at the Aberdeen fans.

quote:
They even laid into a man carrying a child of five or six on his shoulders.

quote:
I have followed the Dons all over for the last 30 years and I have never seen anything so frightening or sickening.

On a lighter note some of my pics from the game

Aberdeen 4 - FC Copenhagen 0!!!!

Aberdeen 4 - FC Copenhagen 0!!!!

Was at the game was amazing!!! Pictures to follow. This is a team that last year beat Man U, Celtic and this year put out Ajax and we thrashed them!!!

Dumped out Dinpro, Lockomotiv Moscow as well. Who were all big spenders in the summer. As in 30 Million plus in some cases.

and now you can goto munich & see if you can get more than we did

on our persepctive, Atletico Madrid will be brill and the propsect if we beat them of sporting lisbon or basel, it makes the trips to macedonia and the like worthwhile to get to experience stadia like the vicente calderon and (hopefully) the stadium of light.

Posted by Dervish on Dec-24-2007 01:33:

would love it if we did

if you go out, note to the wise watch the cops... seriously

but the flights are cheap, metro is too and in general the fans are ok... aside from one who missed me with a bottle by inches

I recommend the Aj hostel from hotel bookers. com, cheap, clean, and very cool (said that somewhere else too)

Posted by Ian on Dec-24-2007 01:43:

wont be able to go out mate. most tickets are up for season ticket holders only. might get a couple for the home leg if lucky. flights too are rumoured to have gone from 50 quid return to 350rtn

Posted by Dervish on Dec-24-2007 01:51:

gonna be like that for us for the next tie... but half season tickets out soon... so might get one of them

going to be interesting to see though, so difficult

anyway good luck to all the british teams

except spurs I hate those bastards. You have no idea how many young british or other players they've bought from clubs in the hope they'll be good, rather than bringing their own through more regularly. I think i once worked out they'd bought about 40 players in 3-4 years and discarded most of them already.

Posted by Dervish on Dec-24-2007 20:17:

The old firm does that up here too. Great prospects who don't get a chance then end up shit. Just lists and lists of them. They should have clauses to stop that.

If you don't start a under dunno... 26 year old player more than 10 games a season and he wasn't injured he can ask to buy out his contract (or the club who signs him can). Could be dodgy with goalkeepers and so on tho lol.

Bayern lucky to draw with Aberdeen

and Bolton?!?

Posted by Dervish on Feb-14-2008 23:37:

Yeah well done to Bolton!

Gash pen sunk my bets tonight, but 2-2 wasn't bad. Going to be a different game over there though. And 1-1 and the like ain't gonna cut it.

lol stfu we did great. We've been playing better lately with little reward or luck so maybe this is the start of it. Regardless of what happens next week, we've done our club proud. Brilliant

Your boys were lucky not get mauled at Ibrox, 2 shots on target in 90 mins....

16,000 crowd.... you're playing a team who play away every season Celtic park. lol

You guys watched the highlights of Bremen-Braga?

What a mess. The referee gave three penalty kicks for fouls that didn't exist, two for Braga, one for Bremen. Wiese saved both Braga's penalties, Hugo Almeida scored Bremen's. Final result 3-0 thanks to some really shitty goalkeeping on the other side by Paulo Santos.
