Patski - Sunrise In Space [Epic/Uplifting Trance Mix]
Artwork by Dinyctis
Well it's been quite some time since I've posted a trance mix up here. I've made a lot of them recently but only a few I believe are good enough to chuck online. So today I present you with a one hour mix of epic, uplifting & melodic trance. With my mixes I like to have a nice balance of new tunes and past tunes, instead of throwing out mixes consisting of all new releases. Sunrise in Space has a few classics you'll definitely recognise and also a few more recent tunes which you may of heard aswell. I also figured I'd comment on each track for once.
Equipment used:
2 x Pioneer CDJ-800 MK2
1 x Beringer DJX 700 (Ordered my Vestax VMC004FX, should be here any day now)
01: The Thrillseekers feat. Gina Dooston - By Your Side (Martin Roth Vocal Mix)
Initially I was going to have this mix contain no vocals at all but I made an exception for this one, I've always liked the vocals from this track and I believe this remix fit in better than the original would of.
02: The Quest - Solitude (Original Mix)
I kept trying to decide whether to throw in this track or C Sharp as they are both favourites of mine however I didn't want to overwhelm the mix with classics so I chose another track by Benno De Goeij that had that uplifting feel I was looking for to get the mix flowing.
03: Insigma - Open Our Eyes (Club Mix)
My favourite production to date by Mr. Helstrip, this is one of the tracks that got me into trance when I listened to Magik 7 for the first time back in 2001. Beautiful piano, beautiful track.
04: Smith & Pledger - Forever (Matthew Adams Melodic Mashup)
I've been getting into Smith & Pledger a lot recently, I get that summer vibe whenever the melody from this one kicks in. I chose to use the non-vocal version because it was just a bit too cheesy in my opinion and not what I was after for this mix.
05: Mike Nichol - Durado (Original Mix)
From here on the pace really picks up, love everything about this track. A great producer from Melbourne and a truely driving track.
06: Cosmic Culture - Oceans (Deep Blue Sea Mix)
I was a bit skeptical with this track thinking it might be pushing into the hard trance genre a bit much but I couldn't resist throwing this in.
07: Sean Tyas - Candida (Terk Dawn Remix)
My favourite Tyas production to date, the original got me interested but this remix won me over and blended in fantasticly to really keep the flow going.
08: Mike Nichol - Morning Kiss (Original Mix)
Probably the most played tune over the past month for me, the breakdown in this track is amazing. I was debating for awhile whether to use this track to wrap up the mix.
09: DJ Tatana, Sean Tyas - Airwave 2006 (Original Mix)
When I got into trance this massive hit by Rank 1 totally bypassed me and I have only recently discovered it. I love ending a mix with a classic that people could connect with, this remix was a no brainer to wrap everything up.

Really enjoyed this mix, mate. Lots of energy, just the way I like it. Thanks for sharing.
Love "By Your Side" and "Forever". I have Forever on vinyl, so I busted it out last night after listening to this mix.

8) hi DJ Patski! this set is totally amazing. fantastic work in my opinion. nice art poster too, meanwhile take care

The first three tracks have a dark atmosphere, and you got it if that's what you went for. The next track "Forever", was a great uplifting change and it was really enjoyable. The rest of the tracks I didn't care for except for the last one. This probably has nothing to do with your track selection as it does my finickiness. Out of beatport's top 100 prog house tracks I only bought two.
The tracks had a very similar feel to them. Your matching needs work.
