Go to Coco Bongo, and I don't think it is open anymore, but if it is, go to Fat Tuesdays.

Also, XEL HA is hella awesome... so if you can take an excursion there, do it.

The ruins are really nice to look at, and can be interesting if you like history, but is not that exciting, and isn't really worth all the money to go to if you are looking for something a little more... active.

Don't go anywhere alone. Ever.

Negotiate ALL prices. Take the bus when you can (it's so much cheaper than a cab), and if you DO take a cab, put your seat belt on... they are fucking crazy drivers.

YES!!! Oh man, I was terrified when in a cab. And +1 on the always have someone with you. They love tourists and your money.

LOL... I remember coming home one night, hammered off my ass. We get into the cab, and I was so messed, I felt like I was in the video game "Crazy Taxi". The man was a lunatic... driving like 160km on the friggen main strip.

swam with whale sharks and manta rays
snorkeled in a reef
snorkeled in an underwater cave
hiked mayan ruins
kayaked in the Caribbean ocean
saw flamingos in the wild
spent a night at a nature resever "si'an ka'an"
stayed 2 nights at a topless beach
ate mad mexican food mmm
saw a sea turtle lay eggs at 1am

...im totally going back sometime

I was there two summers ago and hell yeah I had a great time.. best beaches I've ever been.

shows @ coco bongo rock. for music the club called the city is the best option.

got to chichen itz� too. they are a mayan pyramids better than the Tulum ones.
