drunk dj's

okay,, from what i've heard some dj's drink while they play which is totally fine with me.. I have heard mixed messages about two dj's from this past labour of love ,, in paticular armin van buuren and sander van doorn... i heard from a gurl that was dancin on stage while svd was playin that armin was the one who was drunk and he kept callin himself ferry corsten.hahah , jokes... but other people are saying sander was a little drunk thats why armin had to play longer and thats why he kinda messed up his set... anyways,, I thought both of them were great,, wish i heard more of the new guy sander !!

omfg if i knew a dj had fun and partied while he was spinning i'd never listen to them again

i mean, which one was drunk? let's get to the bottom of this and take a vote on their punishment!

this is preposterous!!!

I play better with a bit of a buzz on.

Posted by ChemEnhanced on Sep-05-2007 15:24:

it must have been Armin....I would have to get drunk to listen to that fluff too.

Posted by chinamon on Sep-05-2007 15:25:

being drunk is fine. they are having a good time.
being sloppy is not. i have seen it before and they end up making an ass of themselves. perfect example was oliver mcgregor who opened for lawler at the sunrise set this year. thankfully i think he is not allowed back.

there is casual drinking.

and there is flat on your face unable to spin drunk that some DJs have done and pissed of fans who paid big money to see them. that's disrespect.

I have noticed

Yeah, as long as it doesn't affect the quality of their set, big whoop.

I agree .... get wasted after your set if you want to party, this is your job and a certain level of professionalism should be expected.

yeah, wasn't there a party on canada day that one up-and-coming dj couldn't even spin in the drink or gallery? fedde maybe?

Posted by StereoPrincess on Sep-05-2007 15:35:

or even worse, all those stories of djs missing gigs because they were too trashed and missed flights.

I agree 100%....if any of us showed up to our jobs drunk....we wouldn't have our jobs for too long. I definately loose respect for DJs that are obviously drunk/high when spinning.

djs are so lucky, one of the few jobs where you can drink and not be fired as a result!

Yeah I agree he was defiantly one of the worst cases I have ever seen, he left the decks so many times so unprofessional.

I know what a load of BS .... I never seen any DJ's at Guv leave the booth and go for a smoke break.

MSTRKRFT were awesome at LOL, since they were in the tent they didn't need leave the decks once as they could smoke right there, there true pro's LoL

On the other hand, I've seen two great international DJs absolutely rip shit up being totally wacked on MDMA. Flawless mixing, great track selection, great energy...it goes both ways. If you are going to get trashed/wacked, go ahead, as long as the party doesn't suffer...
