Stu Cox - "Paramo" (new banging electronic music demo!)

Good lord it's been a while... after over a year and a half, I've finally got around to making a new peak-time demo. I call it:

PARAMO
(fuck knows why)

I suppose most people would probably class it as a mixture of driving prog house, trance and techno, but there's a real mixture in there and I'm becoming less and less one for pidgeon-holeing, so I'm just going to call it electronic club music - it's electronic music designed to sound fucking sweet in huge club with the lights down low

Don't be scared by the fact that there are 20 tracks and it's only an hour long - some tracks are literally just dropped in for 30 seconds and others are left to play their course... I don't think it feels rushed, but tell me if you disagree!

All feedback very welcome - in fact very much requested Please let me know what you think

TRACKLIST:
01 Peter McCowan - Let

I could have sworn i left a review last night, but I'll go again i suppose. The mixing = Yes yes yes yes and one oui. To be totally honest i dislike most of the Trance tracks in here and was a little scared. (just personal taste of course) The way this was put together made the tracks not being favourites absolutely irrelevant. It is so nice to hear a set when you can't pinpoint when every transition is going to start. It thinks outside the box, adds elements of suprise (the best thing you can do to a set imo) and keeps a fairly good pace to keep you attentive. Well done, this is the first mix i have ever heard from you and I might be inclined to listen to another one if this is your mixing style you usually employ. Story mode is nice, but if people played trance with this style of mixing more often, it would just be more fun. I like the artwork as well, it reminds me a littlwe bit of some old Circo Loco posters i have lying around.

Decided to give this a shot after seeing the reviews.... The mixing is great, tracks pop up from nowhere but fit in. Wasnt sure if I was going to like this given the tracklist but yeah, fans of most genres would like this. Its different.

Checking this one out for sure

I'm with coded, I want that font lol

the first set i heard from the Dj promotion section was your 3 deck techno mix, which wasnt really my cup of tea, but this tracklist is much nearer to ... uh.. my tea?

surely grabbing this one, will leave a review later

p.s. tasty artwork

Cheers for the good review, you seem to have picked up on most of my aims with this mix - moving away from the standard "tune-mix-tune-mix-tune" sort of structure is something I'm very into so it's really good that you've said you like that it isn't very obvious where some of the mixes start/finish.

My other mixes do tend to be similar in terms of mixing style, although they've varied quite widely in genre, this is the first mix for a while where I've really tried to pool together a lot of the different sounds I'm into.

I've played that set countless number of times One of my favorites.

ye, this is a great mix, almost up to class to notice your ears (which is still immense). the transitions are flawlessly good, like a-n-f said, you barely hear where one track comes in and where it goes out. however, with the mix into the matt darey mix of el nino, and onto yaws, you could hear "transitions" so to speak. but that's my only nitpicking.

otherwise, ye, tis banging

That would be Cave - YAWS, but In Your Mind comes in over the top soon afterwards.

Cheers dude, tbh I didn't really think 'Notice Your Ears' was my best mix by any stretch - I'd been doing loads of techno bootlegs of various different tracks so it was just a bit of an outlet for them I suppose (and you tend to spot flaws in your own tracks more than others!)

Bump!

Holy cow, this mix deserves way more attention. I haven't heard a set at this tempo catch my attention like this in a very long time. And I'm only 17 minutes in... can't wait for the rest of it. I can already tell it's going to be brilliant.

Indeed. Anyone who misses out on this one is a fool - it's been a long, long time since I've heard a set of this style that absolutely bowled me over. Outstanding stuff here, though it makes me unbelievably sad to know that there is little to no chance of me ever seeing a DJ play this style so well live (barring a trip to the UK sometime soon ).

One of the best DJ's to ever grace TA - well done again Stu. Next time don't make us wait a year+ for a new one.

+1 to this post. Just finishing the set now, that was fantastic. I'm also disappointed to know that I'll likely never hear a set like this live.

Thank you so much both of you!!

I'd love to play in the States, gotta become well-known enough for someone to want to book me first but once I've got over that hurdle I'll give you a call haha
