John O'Callaghan -

Amazing, yes?
Absolutely love his music.

i agree, generally pretty good

Love Poundin' Sensation

Was surfing Youtube and came across his new track "Big Sky", and from there I kind of went dl-happy

I have to admit, his tunes bring a silly nostalgic grin to my face. It's like listening to trance, before the genre went shit in the hands of the Dutch.

I admit, I used to love Tiesto, but I started listening to ASOT did some research on the songs I liked, which lead me to John.

Posted by BlueFear on Sep-08-2007 06:03:

I like most tracks he's produced since 2006.

Posted by Saint John on Sep-08-2007 06:13:

yeah i lie him..not top 10 like him..but def up there
his tracks are good. Good and thats really all for me. Nothing that will stay in my head or i'll tell my friends about.

i had a listen to his album released a while back. it sounded quite generic and there wasn't much difference between the tracks.

I like most of the producers on the discover label.

Posted by Ian on Sep-08-2007 10:19:

it wasn't a bad sound, it just seems a bit dated now imo, the discover sound has energy which is good, but when a lot seem too samey it should be time to change things up a bit.

I liked JOC when he burst onto the scene around 2004-2005 when he was making a lot more uplfiting and driving tracks. Now his sound has went way too techy for me and Big Sky is just a rip off of Holidng onto Nothing imo. It does it for a mainstream crowd but JOC is talented enough to something a bit better i feel.

The last great track he did imo was Mannix - Mercury

i love his tracks hes an excellent producer
space and time, assembler and pendulum
i havent heard a track of his that i particularly dislike.

All the techy tracks hes done all sound very similar to the last one imo

It's the other way around in my view. I hold JOC, along with the entire Discover crew, responsible for the death of trance.

Only someone who started listening to trance in 2004 would spout shit like this.

John O'Callaghan

Posted by Branah on Sep-08-2007 12:03:

dont like his trax, all to samey

Posted by G-Con on Sep-08-2007 15:09:

haven't heard all his tracks but what I have heard doesn't impress me. Very samey, very generic. The discover label in general I find suffers from this problem. Many tracks off that label represent for me everything that is shit about todays trance.

Then why are you listing productions that have nothing to do with him?

Posted by netroM on Sep-08-2007 19:14:

I remember him from Amateur Music Prod. forum.
Did a forum sig for him and he also wanted me to do a cover design for one of his songs/collabs, but I never really believed he would actually make it pro, so I never made it :P (I also sucked much ass at that time with PS, so that's an important factor as well)

I did like his productions from amateur prod. forum time though

Posted by Venire on Sep-08-2007 19:25:

Generic/10, the newest track, Pendulum, was dull.
