Mazi @ Rebel (9.7.07) <<review>>

Good times, good music, and I am still forever in love with Rebel as a venue... Just wish more people came out to support, but hey, can't win em all... Had a blast getting dizzy with my cousin and her friends from Italy, man, we were DONE by the time doors closed haha... Good times though, and nice seeing the usuals, Zack, Keryn (Happy Bday!), Steven, Shiela, Mike, Chris, Molly, and also Tranceedifice (although I never got around to saying hi, the cup full of straight-up vodka took its toll eventually)... Gotta hand it to you man, you're one of the few that I see at all the local events, supporting the TA promoters, cheers to that, I'll introduce myself next time I see you!...

Amazing music all around, the girls (and me) absolutely loved the music last night, whether in the sideroom with Tek and Luzz, as well as Mazi, everyone was on point with some amazing house which is hard to find nowadays in a city where it's either hard tribal or minimal. Good times, and I'm looking forward to go back to Rebel soon! Steven, thanks for the beer, and nice seeing you last night!

Kudos to the whole SSU crew for putting together another great party. I love the fact that we have something solid now that gets the whole (ok most of the) crew out for good times, good music, and dancing. We are building a solid foundation for something very special! Unfortunately Mike and me never made it back to Rebel after making the mistake of going to Pacha (see my review in the G&D thread.) I really wish we stayed at Rebel but ah well shit happens. It was great to see Steven and Sheila....Steve gear up brother cause it's Shaaaaaaark fishing time!!! Oh yeah and if anybody has pictures of me dancing on the bar stool.....please delete them NOW.

oh yeah - Taso.....brilliant job on the visuals man...seriously they were awesome!

Can I just say... I love Rebel! (and hate Pacha, lol) What an awesome time! Great music, wonderful people, the visuals were fantastic, all in all a winderful time I thought it was so cool how the visualizations were variations on the SSU symbol. How cool. I had a great time hanging out with all you guys. Sid is it? I've met you like 9723489725 times and I can't seem to remember your name. Steven and Sheila, I heart you guys And I really do want an SSU poster for my room. Molly, Taso, Dan, good times as always. Wai, Meredith, and Jay, where were you guys? I had photons!!!

Anyhoo, I think I've recovered sufficiently to function now, so I'm going to try and do something productive with the rest of my day. Hugs!

I went to Jollins/G&D first, and wish I had left Pacha a LOT earlier. Like, right after Jollins finished. Seems like I missed seeing some of the usuals (damn you Wai et al for leaving Rebel for Pacha) but it was great to see everyone who was still there.

Ditto to what Marcello and Brian said. Seriously Taso, the visuals were spectactular. And yes, Rebel is great! Though it would have been nice to have had the party in the main room, I thoroughly enjoyed the goth fest downstairs.

Steven, thanks for tolerating my british accent and empty threats. I thought for a minute there I had goaded you in to beating me up, but alas, no. And Sheila, great to talk with you again. Always love seeing you out. Tae, the haircut is rockin. Today, when I sit down with my glass of wine and watch the Justin Timberlake concert on HBO, I'm only gonna be thinking of you.

SSU!

Oooooooooh. Is that what happened to them... DAMN. We should all plan this better next time, which clubs we're all going to and in what order.

Oh yea, PS, that was so sweet of you Molly to try and bring me a glow ring, you're awesome! We were joking around about it and I don't think I really said thank you last night. You're the best

Posted by vtec junkie on Sep-08-2007 17:14:

Yeah for real.....Tae with the new buzz......WOW that threw me off like woahhh. Looks GREAT man!

nice meeting steven and sheila, i'll see you guys again sometime

Oh yea! It all comes back to me in bits and pieces... Somehow, my entire entourage and I got into Rebel for free at like 2 something in the morning. Did that happen to anyone else? Or was it just cause I looked so fine I know it was supposed to be comped before midnight and then reduced after.

Posted by fr0st on Sep-08-2007 17:40:

Tae looks marginally less mexican.

Thankyou everybody that came out..What a fun night..Ok so the place wasnt rammed,,but in my opinion everyone who's anyone was there and I'd be more than happy if it stayed that way..We have the best fun loving crowd in NYC and each and every one of you make a contribution to make each of our parties special..Each little party is like a family occasion and I love you all dearly..

Nowhere in NYC had better music than Rebel last night..I will never get tired of hearing the CORENYC crew..To those of you that missed Mazi to attend Gabriel and Douchebag you made a mistake..When CORENYC make a booking,,they do it for a reason because they believe in real talent..Trust them..

As for Patrick Barry,,Andy Ward,,Mark Ingram,,Chris Luzz and Tae Seol..You guys blow me away every time you play..You're all legends in my eyes..Thanx guys you're the BEST and I mean that..Pure Talent

Tasso,,Thanx bro..The visuals were fucking great..I can't thank you guys enough for putting our very own personal stamp on that room...

Sunnysideup Rules OK....

Sunny Side UP mother******s.
I had a blast, was great seeing everyone, anyone who left early to go to G&D is a sucker. Im glad everyone enjoyed the visuals i put out for the party, the music was on point all night. I can't wait for the next official SSU bash.

I actually attempted to go to Rebel last night. I had no idea what was going on because of all the industrial kids outside. So I went in and the girl had no idea what I was talking about when I said "Bradley Rose guestlist." She was telling me it was 25$ for CombiChrist.

So... was I supposed to go in a different way? I wound up leaving, especially since that girl was kinda bitchy.

same, as we were leaving james and i hung out downstairs for a few minutes. i've always had a secret love of industrial and electronica like vnv nation and the like.

good stuff.

Thanks to everyone who made it! We had a blast and a special thanks to Mark, Andy, Patrick, Chris and Tae for once again killing it. A super special thanks to Taso for the visual feast. And a serious thanks to everone at Corenyc for including us in the night! Well, I will let the pix do the talking:
