I think I witnessed a big drug deal today

So I went to Toronto with Luke today because he needed to take the final part of his policing aptitude test thinger.

Anyway, while he was taking the test, I drove down to a coffee shop to buy myself a smoothie, and read a book

I have the tendency however, to people watch when I am in busy public places... I dunno, people can be fascinating.

So I was sitting there listening to this girl ramble on about her engagement that JUST happened last night, to a guy she has been dating for all of 2 months, when I noticed something weird.

Ok, so to sort of understand what my perspective is, let me mention that I was in the corner facing the entire patio.

To the left of me is a gentleman who looks to be in his 50's or so, sitting there having a cigarette. Alone, and looking like an average, low-class old man, possibly sketchy, but who knows, type of guy.

On the right of me is 3 men varying in age from mid 30's, to mid 60's. All of them are speaking to each other in some other language (Italian?), and seem very... groupie like... something I would describe a mafia group to be like.

Anyway, this other man comes walking in, also looking to be of similar descent to the 3 men on the right, and probably in his later 50's. He walks up to the guy that is sitting alone, and whispers something in his ear. They have a small exchange in a very hushed tone for a couple of minutes, and then the one guy that was alone gets angry and says "don't fucking lie to me". The other tries to shush him, and says something about "20, 000 dollars".

I can't hear much, but I at first chalk this off as old man crazy talk.

So the guy who had just come in, goes and sits with the other 3 men. They talk to him like they know who he is in whatever language they were speaking, and then all go silent. The new man sits directly across on the other side of the patio to the guy sitting alone, and just stares at him for about 15 minutes. He then suddenly gets up, and goes back to the guy sitting alone.

They again have a hushed exchange, and the guy who is alone hands over a wad of 20's. The other guy shoves that in his pocket and leaves.

I of course thought this was really odd, and again chalked this off to crazy old men doing crazy old things.

It wasn't until the man came back and dropped off a package in a block shape to the guy sitting alone that I suddenly realized I was in the midst of, what I believe, was a drug deal. So the guy shoves the package in his coat and sits there like everything is cool.

The other man who brought the package goes back to the 3 men and chats with them in whatever language. He then gets up, and stands behind one of the 3 men sitting down. That guy stands up and moves to another chair, I guess because he didn't like the guy standing behind him. The man standing, (the one who brought the package) finally leaves, and as soon as he does, the other guy returns back to his original seat.

At this point, I was getting confused, and was really wondering WTF what happening, and really started thinking I had just witnessed some sort of mafia or drug mob do a deal. At this point I tripped and took off.

WTF?!?!

So uhhh yea. SKETCHY!!

In other news, Toronto drivers suck so much!!! I hate them with a passion.

The weirdest thing was, right before all of this happened, I asked the 3 men if they could tell me how to get to the CNE from there. They were really nice and tried to be helpful to me, but gave me shitty directions.

Drug deals never ever happen in pubic places, period.

I once had the misfortune to witness something really weird, at an afters... won't comment about it, but I felt like a piece of shit just for seeing what I saw.

I dunno, they were older men.

If I were a drug dealer, I would try to do my dealings in a "regular" type of way. I mean, who can get suspicious of you wanting to go to a coffee shop, right?

If you have people coming in and out of your house, people are going to wonder wtf.

It's not about that Theresa...

They just never happen that way... that's why I'm saying they must have been amateurs... from what you're saying it must have been a drug deal or something fishy, no doubt about it. But from my experience and after that day... you would think EVERYONE is involved at drug deals, that's how good these people are at faking and staging things; hence why I felt like a piece of shit, I didn't even know and when I found out about it, I was like "jesus fucking christ... no way".

somehow i have a feeling sevilla was going to win it all, after puertas death who knows. maybe we got a chance now. i dont like whats going on in the back of the field.

wasn't a drug deal. maybe just a business deal. drug deals dont happen in public like that..if you noticed it, then anyone can, even a passing cop. i dont think they would be that dumb to take a chance like that.

probably just a business deal. or something not so illegal but of some value
