[epic trance] Sky Prophets - Cloud Factory (incl. techy remix)

Hey guys, me again..

It took me a while to decide whether I'd venture off into epic trance again, but I got the chance to produce a theme song for someone's birthday bash a few months ago, so I figured I couldn't pass up the opportunity. The track follows the classic trance formula but I must admit I'm quite pleased with the overall result. Credits must go to a friend of mine as well, who wrote the orchestral section at the beginning. I also uploaded a techy version for good measure.

Cloud Factory (Original Mix)

Cloud Factory (Downside Up Mix)

Enjoy your sunday evening.

Agreed. Absolutely beautiful track, very dreamy & fantasy-like in my mind. Well done mate.

I need to learn how to promote myself.

But seriously - it's still just hobby, I'm happy to share whatever I've got for free.

I've just downloaded the original.
It's a very nice trance tune! The strings at the beginning are beautiful... and the melodies in general. Bass is decent and kick is warm. The only 'negative' thing I've noticed is that the mainsysnth is quite brightly mixed. The synth sound that comes in at 2:30 is not my cup of tea.
All in all I would rate it 8/10

Edit: The strings are a bit similar to those in Tiesto's Forever Today

Brilliant track. I don't visit this forum often enough.

Hey TOR. Still curious if you are still using Reason .

Strings sound very nice!,

Bass and bassdrum are ace!

2.03 the saw sweep there is nice, could be a little louder.

I don't think the square sequence fits the string sequence that hits later one. But thats matter of taste

Main synth is quite oke imo. maybe a tad to much reverb.

7.30 the stabby choirs!! me love. But why didn't bring them in the break or try to build with them to a climax?

Quite nice tune but not my cup of tea anymore sadly.

I am indeed.
Some Kindred Spirits productions have been mixed in Ableton, but generally everything is done in Reason.

Nice solid tune here dude. I really love the square arp in the intro, although the strings backing it get a bit repititive, a single note change every other repreat would do wonders here.
The breakdown could really easily be layered with the chorus from Miranda Sex Garden - Gush Forth Thy Tears, it's the same chord progression I'm pretty sure. If you want to try it I can send you it (they included the acapella on their cd single).
After the breakdown the melody changes in a really nice way and the sounds are nice and complex in the headphones.
Overall the tune sounds great man, well done

Sounds interesting
I don't know the band, but I'm always up for something new and different.

Thanks a lot for listening.

very nice track you have here mate.. the chords are beautiful in the break, as is the awesome lead that follows. just blissful stuff.

Aah so you've finally shared it

The A-G-F-E chord progression's a bit standard, but that was probably Pheatus

Lovin' that lead though

Monkey Dancer 2

Ooooh, the Downside Up mix is terrific! Sounds like something Sander van Doorn might play. It'd definitely tear a dancefloor apart during peak hour...thanks for sharing!
