Edirol UA-25 Owners

I setup my Edirol UA-25 today and I'm prety happy with it, I'm getting 17ms latency in Cubase SX3 but I'm still tweaking buffer sizes etc...

There are a few other things I'm also hoping are fixable though which I wanted to see if anyone else had the same issues.

+ When playing music in Winamp the sound sometimes pauses for less than a second

+ When I skip though a tune in Winamp its no way near as respondant as my pci card was (it takes a few miliseconds to start playing after skipping)

+ When I'm burning a CD at the same time as listening to music the music will stutter to a halt, I've had this problem with sound cards before but a driver update usually fixed it and didnt have the problem with my last sound card so I know its not a system resource thing.

I checked for driver updates but they only have version 1.0.0

Yes I disabled it in device manager but didnt remove it physically so I might try that.

Have you switched Winamp to the new device?

Control + P (preferences), Output Plug-ins, click DirectSound output, then click configure. The first thing shown will be the output device. Make sure it is set to the Edirol card, not "primary sound driver". With alot of soundboards Winamp doesn't function properly on "primary sound driver" which fully relies on the windows audio subsystem to figure out where to send the sound.

Are you using a USB burner, by chance? You might have troubles if both your burner and soundboard are on the same USB controller.

Thanks MERiDiAN5i2, the Winamp fixed worked.

As for sharing the same USB controller I have a USB MIDI Controller Keyboard,Logitech wireless keyboard and a Microsoft mouse on the same controller, I can still only get 17ms latency out of the sound interface at the moment, I'm going to check the manufacturers site.
