Percusion issues

1. First, whats the best plugin to use(or a very good one) for tuning
percussion samples-finding out what key any sample is in- instead of (having to pitch them manually)?

2. Gated snare : There's a variation that sounds like it gets reversed or (pitch bend) just before its gated. How does one achieve this?

1. Many types of percussive instrument are not harmonic meaning that they do not have a fundamental frequency and/or ordered harmonics with which to tune them in relation to other harmonic instruments.

You have to go by ear and deem yourself what sounds appropriate.

2. Post a soundclip. I have no idea what you are referring to.
