Uni Packing List

Ok so move in to my dorm in Hull on Sat 22nd Sept.

I have not got a clue what to take with me. I have not been told by the University what I need and what I don't need.
Obviously Clothes, Stationary and Personal belongings.

What important things did you guys forget when u wen to college/uni?

No one ever forgets anything. Everyone brings too much. Main thing: DON'T BRING CRAP YOU'RE JUST GOING TO HAVE TO PUT IN DRAWERS. Bring what you need for class, bring your clothes, bring your toiletries. That's it. You'll thank me later.

It kinda depends on dorm to dorm. I guess you'll be eating at a cafeteria?

Either way, pack light. Just cloths, few personal items (not too many). Pack like you're going for a trip for few weeks.

Go check out your dorm and see what services are available and buy stuff accordingly.

Just don't buy or bring too much crap.

Oh and a beer fridge. If your dorm don't have one.

bring great pillows & bedding, but don't bring any plates or dinner utensils. Just grab that shit from the cafeteria(s).

More stuff: Make sure one of you is bringing the biggest fridge you're allowed to bring...if not bigger. Do you have communal bathrooms or individual ones?

same. We had 3 fridges for 4 people. Only one ever contained non-alcoholic products.

pens, paper, and anal lube?

Big case of beer, not joking. Best thing for getting to know your new roomies. And crisps and stuff, and some vodka + mixers for the non beer people.

Once you've seen a man shit himself due to being stocious, you shall never be shy around him again. It's a bond that cannot be broken.

Don't take anything expensive like a laptop, console or mp3 player. Bring those the next time you go after you've gotten used to the place and sussed out just how safe it is.

Ah, this takes me back about 4 years! hehe!

Take essentials, but don`t bring anything cheap that you can buy at uni such as toothpaste shower gel etc.

Take clothes, kitchen stuff, laptop (with lotsa mp3s) and a decent set of speakers. Posters and photos are a must, and a box of tea, sugar and milk that you can easily get to for having a cuppa with your housemates in the kitchen. Leave your door open too, so when new people arrive, they can see you and vice versa!

What uni are you going to?

Best of luck dude!

Yea true. I live 40min to 1 hour away from the uni. What's the point of moving if you're in the same city?
