Biggest Trance Classics of All Time

I'm trying to compile a compilation of the biggest trance classics, and want to make sure i don't forget anything big. Notablely the period between 98-02, but anything big outside that frame is great too.

Actually, some Oggers have told me it was a tape-only release, and only available in a crossroads diner in Saskatchewan.

I did not listen to tranc before 2000 so here are some of my choices

gouryella - gouryella
fridge - send me an angel
tony walker - fields of joy

Imo If your going to do a classics mix, go for the tracks you like personally or one which you think deserve to be classics. Be a bit different and give a different angle on it.

If you produce a CD full of the obvious classics, it will bore most people who are into trance to tears.

But if you really wanna....

Delerium - Silence (tiesto mix)
Tiesto - Suburban Train
Blank and Jones - Cream
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar
Art of Trance - Madagascar

And then there were more commercial..

Kernkraft 400 - Zombie Nation
Underworld - Born Slippy
Faithless - Insomnia
Warrior - Warrior

My personal favourites..

Hi gate - Saxuality
Mauro Picotto - Awesome
Airbase - Genie
Rank 1 - Airwave (breaks mix)

well theres a lot of commercial compilations done with just that in mind.. so ur definetly not the first one to try and bunch up big trance hits/classics

but all u gotta do is search for 'trance classics'

then theres a TA authored classics thread here ... so you can go through those and see which float ur boat

lastly if you wanna be real cool you can go through all the trancemaster releases (especially older ones) and pick what sounds good to you

of course all that would take u about a month, but at least youd have a proper trance classic mix (and a big 1) by the end of it

thanks for the tips...

this cd is solely for my own enjoyment. I don't listen to trance as often these days as i've moved more into house music. But i still enjoy the 30-40 trance compilations i've made through the years. Since theres a lot of stuff on those cds that doesn't excite me as much anymore, i'm trying to condense the oldies into 5 cds of the very best. Obviously i know of most of the trance hits since i've been in the scene for years, but theres always that odd track that i may of missed at the time that i don't want to kick myself later for forgetting about it.
