Recommend some Good Headphones
Running my equipment loud isn't very popular w/ my aging parents downstairs.
Sony?
Seinheisser?
Ministry of Sound?
edit: I posted here 'cuz id like them from people in ontario! (and those i know)
Whassamatter here....u lot dont listen to music?
get the AKG K240 DF... (or anything by AKG period!!) the response is just so damn clear, detailed and sweet. Its VERY comfortable too(i can go for hours on this headphone). I had purchased the sony v600 but returned it the very next day. it had too much bass and wasn't comfortable at all...gave me a headache within half an hour of wearing it. take my advice and go check out this headphone at a local store
IM VERY HAPPY with my Sony MDR-V700's...sounds is awesome on them and they look really cool and shiny lol...
i got em for 200 cash downtown, no tax...!!!
Some stores sell em for 230+ tax...!!!
Also the technics ones are good too, and so are the sennheises hd-25's...check those out...!!!
where did u get em for that price?
Special K, where did you pick up the sony headphones from?
I'm interested in a pair
email me if you'd like!

panasonic
technics
or the old nationals
:)
Ok according to ppl in the dj section do NOT get those sony's...the mvr 700s, they are crap apparently. Get the 600s, not the sony mvr 600s but the sony m600s (I think, but I dunno the EXACT model #, go and look in the dj section for the thread on those headphones...) supposedly those are the industry standard and sony was going to discontinue them but didn't for fear of losing record company business...I'm gonna get a pair whenever I get tables. They're black plain looking ones but have INCREDIBLE sound (or so I hear)
Sony MDR-V6
or...
Sennheiser HD280 Pro
if they were so crap why would so many other big local/intl djs be using them...the sound on them is amazing!!!???
Blah.. I need good headphones too
Who can get me a deal? I'll plug your store on the main page.
lol.
This conversation comes up once a month. The Sony ones aren't garbage, they just aren't as smooth or crisp as the Sennheisers. And the reason why the dj's are wearing the Sony ones most of them time is because they are sponsored to wear em. Usually.
I'm surprised a lot of you guys like the sony v series. hmmm..maybe they really are good when used for djing. definitely go try them all out first if you can rather than getting one b/c someone said its good. good luck!

| Originally posted by Alccode Anyway, the V700's aren't *entirely* crap, but you can get better phones for less money. The main complaint I have with them is that they're overpriced and uncomfortable (the latter differs from person to person, but that is how they're like for me). |

| Originally posted by Special K lol exactly, for me they are very comfortable i can wear them for hours on end...it all depends on the person I guess... |
I have a relatively large head (European), so they tend to pinch my ears. They get uncomfortable (as the phones aren't circum-aural but supra-aural, so they go on *top* of my ears), and their weight causes the headband to produce some pressure down on my head (the V700's are pretty heavy, ~300g IIRC).
Well....as far as a great pair of functional headphones (ie. not nessecarily professional) I got a pair of KOSS SportaPro.
They were about $80 w/ tax and they're amazing! Definately the best pair I've ever bought.
They got great reviews and I know why now.
Check em out.

I just got my MDR-v700's and i'm loving them... they're great for DJ'ing because they're loud as fuck, yet the sound is still really clear... and there are quite a lot of DJ's using the v700's these days, by choice...
the number one complaint about the v700's seems to be that the plastic swivels break easily, but i don't think you'll have a problem if you go easy on them...
