Newbie Seeking Advise - Please Help!!!

Ok Here's The Deal, I Bought My Mixer About One Year Ago, Back Then I Knew Shit About Mixers So I Relyed On Other Peoples 'Expert' Opinions. As A Result I Am Now Stuck With This:

It's An Inter-M DM-602. I Guess It's A Good Mixer But All You Can Do With It Is Crossfade Between Songs, No Eqs, No Effects, No Shit. I Recently Visited A DJ Store And The Have An Offer On The Stanton RM-80:

The Offer's Quite Good, From 449 They Are Letting It Go For 198 Which Is Awesome. Now The Guy At the Store Advised Me Not To Go For The Stanton But Save Up And Go For A Vestax Instead. He Particularly Advised Me To Go For One Of These Two:

Vestax PCV-150:

Vestax PCV-175:

The PCV-150 Will Cost Me Around 370 And The PCV-175 Around 320. I'm In A Dilema Now. Stay With My Current Mixer. Sell It And Get The Stanton RM-80 Which Is In My Opinion A Great Deal Or Save Up For A Vestax? Help, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.

If those are level meters for each channel then no doubt take this over the other two. There isn't that big a difference between Stanton and Vestax (same company). Per channel level meters are great to have!

Stanton and Vestax are the same company? I didn't know THAT!

That Sounds Nice But I Don't Wanna Spoil Myself, Then What Am I Gonna Do If I Have To Play With A Mixer That Doesn't Have That?

You can order a Vestax-175 for 249 at http://www.sapphires.co.uk/cgi-bin/...facturer=vestax I'm sure that's not the lowest price you can find in the UK too. I suggest surfing around and look for the lowest price on the net. Print out the price and goto your dealer and ask for a pricematch. When it comes to retail stores, you can always barter.

Best of luck.

So, You're Suggesting That I Go For The PCV-175? Maybe I'll Do That, Thanx For The Advise Man, I'll Check Out The Site.

Cheers

I do suggest the Vestax only because I'm the type of guy who's paranoid about whether my equipment is working properly or not. It's just so much hassle to get your equipment repaired should it break down at some point in time. Vestax just has a better reputation for making solid equipment over Stanton. Feature-wise, the Stanton looks more rich. I own a Vestax 275 and I get good sound and performance from it.

Another thing you should consider is that crossfader on the Stanton. I don't use the crossfader to mix in and out of music but maybe you do. If you do, having it all the way on right may isolate your right hand too much. (Sometimes people fade and drop channel volume with the same hand.) Furthermore, Vestax has a much better reputation for their crossfaders than Stanton.

I Don't Use The Crossfader Either, But I Guess You're Right, Vestax Makes Really Good Products.

So What Would Other People Do If They Where Me?

if youre gonna mix you dont need a 4 or 3 channel mixer.....all you need is 2....iif you want to remix whatever however then go for the added channels...btw.....vestax makes really good mixers

vestax will make you happy

Talking

go for the Vestax 175

I have the older version of it, PMC 170A

looks basically the same but it's silver. I like it, it gives out good sound and I like everything about it.

Next step for me is a Pioneer DJM 6000 or one of they Allen & Heath ******s
