Yes working at gamestop is the best side job a gamer could ever want. If you are ever lucky enough to get hired there do it even if it's 3 hours a week one day a week doesn't matter.

Lol and being a dick to customers is so much better when you are not on the recieving side. It's funny cause I used to hate that store and now I work there

edit: oh i picked up a psp slim for the hell of it, gonna use it as a doorstop till some better games then naruto come out.

I'd say out off all my closes friends; about 60% have all worked at gamestop/EB Games at one point or another. Best thing is just busting in there knowing your not going to buy shit, sometimes just to visit a friend working there. And if i see a poster or stand up i like, ill usually say "hey can i have that right there"? no? well imma take it anyways. hahaa.

having friends working there does have its advantages.

I worked there when it was called "Software Etc." for 3 years

One of the two best jobs I ever had in my life, and I'm seriously considering trying to get a management job with them for a while when I'm done with school.

what kind of discounts do you get? or do you just get things for free? i applied at an EB games here and they basically told me to my face "its nearly impossible to get a job here, you basically need to be friends with the manager"

i'd prefer to have a job where i can just afford to buy whatever i like.

I've worked retail and the negatives(douchebags, corporate mistakes) heavily outweigh the positives (playing football, getting paid to talk).
