iPod Touch: Does anyone own one yet?
I'm seriously considering purchasing one (though I know this will instantly turn into a "OMG Apple is so teh ghey!!!111" or "You're such a faggy-hipster" thread), and a friend of mine from down in Chicago who's already got one is absolutely loving it, and through my school I can get one for about $60 less than the usual price.
I'm just trying to do some homework before I buy it, and prefer personal experience to "online testimonials," so if anyone has any information they've come across or in their own experience, I'd really appreciate it.
Cheers
if i'm not mistaken, they're set to be released on the 30tth of this month. i wanna get one bad too! looks like the iphone, without all those strings
i think it'll be better too because it's sort of 2nd generation if you know what i mean.
Well, if I order mine today it will ship on the 27th - I'm not sure how my friend got his hands on one early, but I'm sure the Eastern European population in Chicago had a hand in helping him out

Now that we have that out of our systems...
yes...carry on...
To be honest, the biggest selling points for me are wireless access and ease of use.
And I'm no longer considering buying one - my folks actually already ordered one for me (they've wanted to replace my old one since it was stolen).

Fag.
no im on welfare.
nope..dont get..lke 99% of touch screense....it gets all oily and shitty in a year or so....
I don't really get the point in getting one. It costs basically the same as the iPhone but has 16gb instead of 8gb for 400$. Really in my opinion, if I were going to get that small of a hard-drive for my mass amount of music I'd want the extra bang for my buck and I'd just go and get an iPhone.
I still don't do really anything at all with my old 2G iPod other than listen occasionally. I'm too lazy to even upload new stuff to it. But who knows, I might eventually buy one if I'm not too cheap
get a zune...they are like 200 have 30gb...i love mine to death

As far as product quality goes, it's absolutely worth it. The only reason I don't have one yet is because I would fill up 16GB in ten minutes.

I'm a tech geek and I don't even own an MP3 player. That's a bad thing. lol...
I'm holding out, though. I dunno what for.
Enjoy your Touch.

you should just get the classic 160gb ipod, it only cost like $349

The zune is ugly as shit (and last time i checked, all its innovative features are severely crippled or limited) and the Ipod is continually re-inventing itself with brand new shiny stupid shit.
All I can attest to is that iPods output excellent sound, although I don't know if this is attributed to listening to AAC-encoded music rather than MP3.
