[p.e.g] - Fjaerland (Trance)

Hey TAs, here's my first tune for 07. I've been away in Norway and visited a beautiful place, Fjaerland. I hope I haven't done them too much disrespect by dedicating this song to em

[p.e.g] - Fjaerland (original mix) 320kbps

Nice place huh ^^^

I hope you enjoy listening! If you've got any ideas how I can make the song better please let me know

Hey there phill, typing as I listen

Looks like your holiday gave you the well needed break to go away and come back with fresh ideas. Love the pluckish sound at the start, as well as the bitcrushing on those percs. The simple offbeat bass really suits the track and adds to the drive.

Percussion helps move the track along, and there's never a dull moment on the intro.

Onto the break now.. nice pads you have there, and that guitar sound that played throughout the intro adds to the hypnotic effect of the tune. It's all kicked in and works well. The track has a very nice oldschool chicane vibe about it.. reminds me a bit of offshore in parts, which is only a good thing. Perhaps in the breakbeat area you might want to add a seperate snare sound to differentiate it a bit from the rest of the track.. and the odd few percs here and there would help.

Overall man, I think i'd rate this almost as highly as chiba. Good work

Ah thanks for listening man, I've been wanting to show you this. I'm glad you liked the guitar sound, I wasn't sure if it was hypnotic or repetitious but I left it in coz I felt is was more the former. You're right about the breakbeat section, I'll try mixing it up a bit more, the percs were bitcrushed in there to differentiate them but obviously not enough Cheers for the comments dude! It's been good to get some time to put out another tune

Yo Pho!

Oke starts nice, very atmospheric. Hardstyle kick it seems or something. Very hard sounding.

The big fx sounds sound nice on headphones, very moving.

bass sounds nice as well. What synth you used for that?

Miss some acid line heh :P

Track stays kinda the same after the break for me.

Further its quite oke. Just miss some hook in it. Like the sounds you used.

Hey thanks both of you have having a listen

Massive84, I know what you mean mate, i'll translate - "the arrangement sucks" hehe.. Btw the bass was a z3ta for the mids, and a v-station for the lows.

bassline simple

Guitar arp not compatible whatever that means. I just don't like the sound.
Kick and clap give a bit of a euro dance sound to it. Not my cup.
Lot's of energy in here tho, which I like.
Too bad there's an ugly kick, bass and guitar in there!

Keep em coming

Thanks for listening Sunclyder + JayM, I appreciate your honest comments

So Jay you don't like the guitar, arp, kick, clap, and bass which is fair enough. A couple of people have said the kick sucks but eurodance? I mean, aren't you from europe? You should love it j/k dude, and thanks a lot for listening

I heard Chiba a long time ago, when it won some kind of competition and I thought that was excellent, so thought I'd give this a listen.

Listening...

I like the bass instrument, thought it didn't have enough power but that would be my monitoring equipment :/

I like your guitar and your pads especially, very cool.

The break melody and instrument are really good.

Can't fault the arrangement imo.

Could do with some kind of splashy snare or clap for the breakbeat.

I like the part where the kick hits on each of the melody hits, clever.

Perhaps would benefit from a vocal?

Really good stuff.

K

Lol Eurodance has nothing to do with Europe.
Now go change that kick

I for one love the kick, hehe.
Melodies are great as always.. Nothing wrong with the arrangement in my view, there's plenty of interesting stuff happening. I'd take a closer look at the mixing and the volume levels, though. As said before, the percussion doesn't seem to come through properly. The track sounds a bit muffled as well - the higher frequencies could use a slight boost.

Anyway, lots of potential.. I hope you'll keep working on it! Keep us posted.

Oh, I forgot to mention.. Gorgeous title, BUT: save it for a track that has cold ambient structures or something - it really doesn't reflect the sound or the mood of your track, hehe.
