well there is passionate love and there is companionate love. The first being that you looooooove the person and do stupid stuff like be romantic. the other is that you enjoy their company sooo much you wanna be around them all the time and enjoy life together.
the way Ive seen it unfold, especially with womenz, is they start out looking for passionate love, get burned (not by actual flames), then look for companionate love. although that is not always the case, it happens a lot.

I've loved my GF (lefty) ever since I discovered her abilities when I was 12. I've experimented with a BF (righty) but it doesn't feel natural and seems wrong. So we're just friends.
