Question About Demo Tapes/CDs
When You Send Out Your Demo Tapes/CDs To Clubs, How Do You Actually Do It, You Find Out The Owners Address And Mail It To Him? You Go Up To Him And Give It To Him Personally? Or Do You Give It To Them When You Go Out Saturday Night? I Would Just Like To Know So When I Make My Demo I Will Know How To Distribute It.
Help, Anyone?
wow u type weird, every word has its first letter capitalized. but seeing you made a "newbie" question thread on here too, i think u shouldnt think too much about sending your stuff to places first.
If your spinning at a party you will notice those that watch the whole time...give them a copy ***9 times out of 10 they are DJ's/Producers/etc.***
yea if your at a club take a few....give a copy or 2 to the DJ who is spinning...you never know he may not be able to make it in one night and he will ask you to cover for him
you just got to find an "IN"...once your in...its all LOVE

yah.. sad to say but its kinda all about connections at first.. i used to be a promoter a couple years ago and so i used to know a lot of local dj's.. so now i'm using one of them to help me get my demo out there.. but to answer your question.. you can always call up a club and tell them you are interested in spinning and if you could drop off or mail your demo to them.. i'd say its probably better to drop off in person than mail.. but dj liquid is right, giving it to a dj that is already working there could be better because he may have some influence in recommending you!

Anywayz, Just To Let You Know I'm Not Offended. As For The Demo Thing, I Don't Intend To Send Some Right Know, I'll Do That When My Mixing Reaches A Satisfactory Level, Though I Have Made Some Major Improvements
I just handed out my demo in person to a club last night. I'll ask for a manager and hand him my cd, then chat with him for a little. You can also usually get into the club for free too...just ask him to see the eq setup that they have!
Also, my first in was going to clubs/raves and giving a shit load of demos out to everyone. Just hand out like 5-10 every weekend that you go out and you'll be bound to find someone with a connection, or at least a connection to a connection

if you are too wussy to talk to the manager, how do you ever expect to spin at his club? you think you can just show up and spin and get paid w/o ever conversing w/ management?
