Smiley DJ Online Vinyl Stores for the U.S.

Ok there are some really great vinyl sites out there that I use, but the overseas shipping prices are pretty rediculous. I just had to pay $15 in shipping for just a couple of records that were overpriced to begin with. I need some stores that are closer to me or that just don't have such steep shipping cost.

I ordered 10 vinyls from throb, but they sent me only 4 since the rest was out of stock even though they didnt say on their site. But their service was very fast, and they were very helpful (throb is in New York)

It took around 2 weeks for djmr. I only ordered 2-3 vinyls...

as u said, satellite has great service, like juno...

so far:

1) Juno
2) Satellite
3) Groovetech and Throb
4) Dj mr

I ordered around 20 vinlys from onlydjs, and still waiting for them. I sent 3 emails but didn't get any reply. I've been told that they have great service, but so far, their's the worst...

www.dancerecords.com has free shipping on all orders over 50 dollars. I have gotten some pretty good vinyl from there but there selection is not the best. They have samples for everything. Well good luck.

djsocrates...ya know I have been wanting to ask about dancerecords.com..thanx for the info

www.dancerecords.com <--free shipping on orders over $50
www.danceimports.com <--free shipping on orders of 5+ records
www.dmcrecords.com <---awesome selection, relatively cheap shipping just make sure you order 4 or more because i think its like about $5 to ship anywhere from 1-4 records so u might as well have them pack that bos.. also call them to make sure what u want is there because their in-store inventory doesn't always match the online inventory.
www.satelliterecords.com <---killer selection, whack shipping price
www.ebay.com <---you'd be surprised at what you can find here
www.chemical-records.com <--yah yah its a UK store but they will probably ship your stuff to you faster than some of these US stores.
www.juno.uk.co <---same story as chemical i just don't like how they don't have a search function.

well hope this helps

right: chemicalrecords has really great service...they shipped my order in 2 days...

wrong: juno does have a search engine

btw. onlydjs shipped my order yesterday, oh finally...

Posted by hapamoto on Apr-25-2002 01:09:

juno has a search engine?? damn i must be blind.. i always hated scrolling through their lists!

www.planetxusa.com

pretty good American on-line store, good choice of epic/uplifting/melodic anthems. Unfortunately a lot of their stuff isn't available and you only learn that later, by e-mail.

Posted by dvd on Apr-25-2002 06:46:

how much is shipping for planetxusa..they dont tell you which sucks. but they have the stuff i want!!

Posted by Xquisite on Apr-25-2002 07:13:

planet x rapes on you shipping.

I remember buying ~10 records, and shipping came out to be 22$.

Personally i wouldnt buy from planetxusa. They dont tell you on their site if something is out of stock or not. So you decide to go ahead and order it. BUT... in the comment field when you checkout, you leave something like "Please do not bill me if you dont have all those records." And you know what happens? They bill you AND they dont contact you. You dont find out which records you didnt get UNTIL they ship it. And by then it's too late to stop them from shipping it mainly because they have no phone # or email you can specifically contact them.

IMO, very poor customer service. I will never order shit from them again

btw minimum order is 40$ So if I were you and you'd really want the records, i'd pick records that total just a bit over 40$. so if they dont have one, then they cant ship it to you. Otherwise if you order like 11, and you get 6... then it's stupid to get rape on shipping for half of the lot you wanted.

most of the stores in gemm are shitty ones...they say on their web sites that it takes at least 2-3 weeks to ship the records...

but its true that u can find so many things...

Posted by capricorn15 on Apr-26-2002 05:23:

about planetxusa.com, they might be a good place for new vinyls, but they are bitches, i have had my orders from them cancelled so many times, and when i receive a busted vinyl in the mail, i returned it, all they did was give me credit, and they wouldnt special order it even at my request, i would rather have a hard to find vinyl then credit to my account. yea and i also hate it how i get the box of records and you have some missing that you ordered, because they werent in stock but they didnt both to telll you what you were getting before tehy shipped it. they are really cocky too, fuck em

Posted by Eugene on Apr-26-2002 20:38:

Although I understand what all of you are saying about www.planetxusa.com (because I myself have been in these situations), I have yet to learn of another American on-line vinyl store that would have such a great selection of new uplifting Euro-Trance anthems, which is my specialty.

Nothing else compares, EVEN if they sometimes tell you that some of the stuff is not available. Somebody said they're cocky; I don't think they are, at all. They always e-mail you personally to let you know the status of your orders.

Believe me, I've researched all the American on-line stores and even ones in Canada, and they all suck compared to www.planetxusa.com in terms of epic/uplifting Euro-Trance.

Having the records listed on their site is not the same thing as Having THOSE records in stock.

I'd say about 90% of the things they have on their site are out of stock or are discontinued. Probably the main reason they have such a wide selection to look at is to draw people to their sites thinking they have all these back stock stuff.

Posted by capricorn15 on Apr-26-2002 21:38:

yea planetxusa is a bunch of fags, i would only buy from them if i was getting brand new vinyl, ifs its not brand new, then fuck em, dont order from that shit hole

that's because those companies are located in Europe, and of course it'll take some time before the records can be shipped to the US.

But there is EVERYTHING there, if you're looking for the most obscure release you WILL find it. I've had very good experiences with Gemm. Thanks to them I got several rare vinyls that I wouldn't have found anywhere.

Try www.musicesp.com

Posted by infinity HiGH on Nov-04-2002 23:09:

how reliable is Juno? I searched their listings and found a lot of stuff that I couldn't find on any other online shops...I have a hard time believing that they have most of the rare stuff that I wanted...do they actually have it? Or is it only listed there, because they don't update their online listing to match their actual in-house stocks? Same question for Chemical Records.

Posted by uberclkgtr on Nov-05-2002 00:52:

juno is very reliable. and if you get the fed ex shipping, you'll get your order in a couple days. awesome.

Posted by mikefasssy on Nov-05-2002 07:00:

juno has lots of stuff but its expensive compared to chem!
go chemical!

Posted by Phu on Nov-05-2002 08:30:

Dont waste your time looking because if u want i got the best place. Its call www.majesticrecordings.com they have killer services and good vinyls too and they will ship your vinyl for free if u buy 5 or more and oh thats only if u live in the U.S not anywhere else.

Posted by xXxAzNrAvErxXx on Nov-05-2002 19:01:

I would suggest you buy records from foreign stores like Juno & Chemical. More selection and if you buy alot of records at once, the price/record will probably be cheaper than the amt you pay for in the states.
