Does anyone have or ever used these cdj's? What's your opinion on them? I'm in the market for cdj's and these seem really cheap (in terms of price) for the amount of features they offer (effects and vinyl emulation for example)...is the price too good to be true?

I've seen them for $400-$500 on average btw.

there ok as long as the 0.1 pitch doesn't freak you out, if ever

i own a pair of 304's which are the earlier model of the 314's...kinda like cdj mkI's and mkII's. anyway, overall i like what I got for the price (paid $400 for both decks,used). my only complaints are:
1. if you've used pio's at any point in your DJ experience, the pitch resolution on the stanton's are going to piss you off more than slightly at first. you'll get used to it, but you really gotta be having a good day for these to sound remotely close to the pios.
2. the BPM counter is not accurate whatsoever. It will detect trance tunes at 94.8bpm, for example, and hiphop at 115. if you rely on bpm counters for your mixing, your screwed. although, i must say having a shitty bpm counter FORCES you to use your ears a whole bunch more.

i would have got the pio 200's, but since i was on a limited budget, and spin hiphop for school parties and what not, the 'scratch ' feature in vinyl mode is kinda cool, especially since alot of ppl expect gimiky sounds like 'wikeewikeeee' when they see a dj.
overall i'd give these a 7/10....great bang for your buck, but you still get what you pay for.

I have the 314's. There great, the effects are pretty legit. The vinyl mode isn't as good as the mk3's but its decent. I find the BPM counters pretty accurate actually. I like how it can read mp3's

hahaha damn man, your younger then me and you have decks. I'm stressing out so much over what to buy, how much to spend, the usual first time setup shit.

Yeah thats usually how it is for even me. yeah I saved for years so I could get a set of decks.

not to hijack the forum here but cheers for saving up your money on decks. I never had the discipline when I was younger.

I work at a grocery store, so it's hard to save up money when you're barely making any ...but soon!! Soon the decks will be mine

i'd take a look at the pioneer cdj-200's

it's a good little cd player

For a starter setup, go for the CDJ200 with the DJM400 as your mixer. You won't be disappointed.

I'm running Denon DNS3500s on a Pioneer DJM909 right now. Upgraded from a pair of CDJ200s and a DJM400. (Kept the mixer, sold the 200s.) Prior to that, I had CDJ100s and a craptastic Behringer mixer.

Do yourself a favor and save until you can buy something solid. Had I known how amazing the 3500s and 909 are, I'd never have wasted money on the cheaper gear. The 314's, however, are solid little decks for the price point. A friend of mine runs two of them on an Ecler mixer and he does quite well with his mixes. The pitch resolution isn't as good as the 3500s or CDJ1000s, but it's still damn good. Also, the FX aren't half bad and the LCD display is nice.

It's your choice, though. Just bear in mind that the more you save, the better the reward will be in the end.

Hey thx for the advice punisher. i was actually thinking of getting the behringer djx700, but i read a whole bunch of negative review on it, and you're comment about it is the straw that broke the camels back.

I'm also confused on whether i want to be scrathing or simply beat matching. Cuz vinyl emulation cdj's throw on $300+.

Yeah man, don't go with that Behringer.

As for scratching, I, too, don't scratch now, but I decided on cdj 800 mk2 when I bought my gear a while back just in case I wanted to get into scratching down the road. I still haven't gotten into it, but it's a nice option to have if you're thinking about it now. Plus, of course, you'd get the nice, big, jog wheel which is awesome and club standard.

I think its a stupid idea that the stanton c314, c313 etc. all have disc trays. If your'e going to play out at a club they will soon get full of dust or broken off.
