The 1000mk3s just came out last year so don't expect anything beter other than maybe a pair of dvjs. Not to be brief but I'm typing this from my ipodtouch. Cheers

Its really amazing! Much thinner than even the current ipod video believe it or not. The software is good and incredibly intuitive to use. Even typing or navigating fast tjrough various menusis a breeze. Also the music menus are customizable. Truly an amazing device...im not trying to hijack this threadbut if you have anymore questions pm me. And for the record im typing this on the touch while waiting for the bus for work

lol thanks, eviltree is correct imo, i really dont know what else they would add to make it better it's very nice imo
Apparently they're not making anymore CDJ-1000s, cause there's not much else they can add on to it to make it worthwhile to release. The DVJ's are suppose to replace it.

That's such a stupid suggestion.
It's like saying "Hey I'm looking to buy a new car, is this one good?"
"Skip getting that car and take the train instead."
Both will get you places but are totally different.
Nobody that is interested in Ableton should go out and just buy a bunch of gear. Get the demo, read read read, and play around with it (a LOT).
I love the program and use it all the time, but really don't love DJ'ing with it.
I'll take decks for that any day... for me it's just a hell of a lot more fun and more in line with what I want to get out of DJ'ing. Everyone is different.
All these people who spout "Ableton is the future of DJ'ing" are a bit off. Ableton isn't the future, it's the present. It's been around for like 6 years, and there's a reason some people love it and others don't.
It'll be interesting to see what other innovations come along integrating software with a traditional DJ'ing experience.
But if the original poster is looking at the CDJ-1000 MK3's, they are great decks and will be relevant for quite some time. And with DVS systems like Torq and Serato, you can expand your horizons even further using the same equipment.
