Who waited in line for Halo 3? a VIDEO game
So my step brother who's in high school, he finished some projects he had due and stuff, and he was allowed to go wait in line for Halo 3 by his mom, which I'm told came out at midnight.
I don't play video games at all, so I don't get how people get so hyped up for it, or wait in LINE for it lol. Anyone do this last night?
The number of people calling in sick for work or skipping school today is probably at a record high lol. I myself enjoy playing Halo but never got very hyped up about them. I've pre-ordered games and been excited as all hell the day they were released but can't see myself shirking responsibilities over it.
Saddened my xbox classic can't run it.
It's modded, so I have tons of games, but won't make the stup up to the new one until the mods are as easy as previously.
i waited in line for WoW: The Burning Crusade.
Nope...
I've had the game since Last Saturday...
But haven't played it yet though, lol.
It's no different than people waiting in line to see their favourite movie, or getting the latest book!
Halo 3 is the last game in the Halo trilogy so I'm guessing that the gamers wanted to see how everything ended before everyone on the internet ruined for everyone.
I guess its hard to make an EDM compairison, but i'm sure there would be several situations where you'd wait in line all night...
It's no worse than waiting in line for the iPhone/PS3/Wii/next Harry Potter book. I'd rather wait a week or two at home, and then just buy it without any hassles. But hey, everyone's got an addiction to something I guess.
Off topic, but is the PS3 considered a complete failure yet, or is Sony still claiming it'll come out on top? It's been a while since it was released, and I still don't see/hear of any really good games for it. Besides Blu-Ray movies, what are the chumps who bought the PS3 playing on it?

I can't be bothered to wait in line just to get something before someone else.

PS3 = fail
There's a halo 3 launch party on thursday here with some big heads in the industry, i'm wondering if I should skip work friday for this.
The point is, people need to stop thinking about video games, as just being for kids, or nerdy older guys.
Its escapism plain and simple, and it may be the most advanced form yet. It may also be the 3rd largest (industry worth) form of, behind sports and drugs. The video game industry and surpased the movie industry.
For the record, I could care less about playing Halo3, as I hate those types of games. Give me an old mario game any day. I just think people need to shift their way of thinking about the industry, or the people who get involved.

I like video games as much as the next geek, but at least I have the self discipline to wait a few days before getting a game...
I just don't see the point of waiting in line for hours or days for a game. It's not like the world will collapse if you don't get the game on the first day
Seems a lot of people have weird sense of priority
you all need to watch the southpark where cartman can't wait to get a wii so he freezes himself...
cartman calling himself from the future...priceless!
ps: <3 butters
I think my bf was ready to go to Future Shop at midnight, until I made fun of people that play into the marketing schemes and consumerism of it all.
I waited in like for halo 3 last night.... hahaha i didnt even buy it, i just went with my friend who was buying it.... basically just went for the hell of it, thought i should do something like this at least once in my lifetime! we waited at a smaller video game store though, not best buy or future shop
and yeah NHL 08 is sick, i have the demo and will get the game once i get some cash!
skate is another really good game that just came out, a great alternative to THPS
I'M MASTERING MY JOYSTICK GUY!!!!!!!
