Not really, most of the country is desert or arid, population is tiny, cities are comparatively small and the culture is a lot closer to the UK in terms of tastes, humour and interests.

I have a few canadian & Brittish friends, but I have to say that canadians definitely have the more outgoing humour the aussies have; I just snap with canadians & immediately have a good time. But goatdamn, UK TV comedy is the shit, they do make the best shows.
