N64 games were ****ing hard to beat

I always thought the NES had the hardest games. Early games didn't have the save feature, so if you died you'd have to start from the very beginning.

True.

I found that to have the opposite effect on my penis.

I admit that I used a walkthrough to beat the Water Temple in OOT.

Honestly though... that dungeon was fucking hard.

Bro come on all you had to do was flood levels to get to what you needed not even the hardest temple in that game...

tbh, I was scared. Dungeons scared me. I didn't want to go from room to room and back again etc. figuring it out. But the Water Temple is known as like the hardest dungeon in the game, so don't even argue that fact.

I was also trying to beat the game without dying once (save file = 000). I was under the impression that I could somehow get the Tri-Force if I did this. The more time spent running around a dungeon, the higher the chances of dying. Lots of times I'd be far along and then fall down some stupid chasm and die, and I'd immediately Reset the N64 and start it over.

The fact that I completed the Shadow Temple without having a heart attack, is just wow. I was a huge pussy when I was a kid.

the difficulty of games has little to do with access to internet. games are simply easier these days. developers know most people dont finish most games anyway, and they're putting their effort into other aspects of design rather than just making them bullshit hard.

You know what game I couldn't figure out? Faxanadu. I could never make it to see the King.

That game was awesome.

The first time I played it through, I took my time. It took like 60+ hours.

Second time, I went for speed. Took about 8 hours (100% of game).

like that fucking tommy & jerry game me and my brothers were playing. Never got past lvl 1 except this ONE time, but we died right at the beginning because we had no life left.

You are talented, my friend. I remember that when I was ten I played it for 3 days straight trying to beat the part where you have to sneak Link in the castle to see Zelda. It probably summed up to about 90 different tries.
