-- that bootleg remix of California Dreaming

that bootleg remix of California Dreaming

what the fuck. who made it, and why is it so popular? it's one of like 3 non-rap songs that people recognize at parties.

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Oct-01-2007 06:25:

Benny Benassi, the source of all evil.

Posted by SMC on Oct-01-2007 06:26:

There are probably more than one. I only know about the Royal Gigolos version, but it's not a bootleg.

Royal gigolos - California Dreaming (Boogie Pimps mix)?

Posted by phyrrus on Oct-01-2007 15:05:

god damn you benny benassi. if I knew you irl I'd be glad to push you and shove you til I got my satisfaction.

the remix I'm talking about has to be a bootleg. it has a lot of imperfections and sounds very amateurish, and it uses this retarded sample of some guy going "Music please!"

You're ruling Benny Benassi out because it has imperfections and sounds amateurish?

Anyways, the version of the track that got really famous was the Royal Gigolos version, which is probably the one people would recognize.

I've never heard the other mixes, so I can't compare. But here is a sample of what i have, labeled as Boogie Pimps mix, which sounds kind of amateurish with the vocals cutting abruptly.
(I skipped through the song, but you can hear the portions where it will have "california" and then the volume cuts in and out")

There is DJ sammys as well... another fine slaughter

Symphonix and Xibalba do a more tasteful version of this for those who like chunky progressive psytrance... it shan't be difficult to look up.

I should probably mention, for no real reason, that Wicca has a version (of sorts) by the name of California Nightmare... of course it's rather evil, and chugs along at 150 BPM

that's not the one I was referring to, but holy hell, it sounds a million times more annoying than the one I'm talking about.

upon closer inspection, I recognize that overemphasized filter thing that benny benassi does in all of his songs, so it must be him.

I think Nick Warren did one as well........

that's the one, although I've never heard it with that Gunther wannabe rapping over it. just when I thought it couldn't get any worse.
