who even pays attention to those anyways
Well of course its only going to be charts full of music thats actually for sale, not necessarily reflective of what that dj / artist is currently playing really.

all of the tracks on the main page top ten are only sold exclusively through beatport (for some time or indefinitely). because the sales of said tracks arent divided amongst the 150 other download portals, they get more sales on that particular site thus putting them above all the others. once they are on the main page chart the sales increase because of the high visibility which generates even more sales and prolonged chart posish.
but if you look at other dance music download sites, the charts are quite different. there really can be no argument made that those tracks would chart as well on other sites, it is simply not possible, those tracks are exclusive to beatport.
in other words:
#1 beatport exclusive track X might sell 4000 downloads, but all of those sale are onnly through beatport
random unexclusive dope track Y might sell 5000 downloads total across all 150 download portals, but because those sales werent through beatport it doesnt chart at all, even though it outsold track X.
there should be a soundscan type chart for edm sales imo.
edit: i am in no way discrediting the tracks that make the beatport charts, i think alot of what makes it deserves to be there, just explaining what is actually happening from my point of view. I dont not work for beatport but if anyone knows differently of the beatport inner workings, please enlighten us.

I really don't think DJs put that much effort into their Beatport charts. Besides, they're limited to tracks sold on Beatport, and DJs are sometimes reluctant of revealing their TRUE current gems in their crate.
they rig the charts to the people that they will make the most money off of.
then people like you go and download all the tracks on the top 10 and make Beatport happy

hahaha no Mr Bot is not an alt. Some of the stuff he talks about on other forums would make your nose bleed
Screw beatport charts BTW, best way is to look through new releases by genre and trawl through stuff. Takes ages, but you find a few gems.
