RELEASE DATES:

UK
8TH OCTOBER

23RD OCTOBER

GLOBAL UNDERGROUND PRESENT THE INCREDIBLE NEW ALBUM FROM
DUTCH ELECTRONICA PIONEER; EELKE KLEIJN

Industry heavyweight Eelke Kleijn is no stranger to success. He made major waves last year with a string of very well received and highly circulated productions, and remixes. Eelke’s signature of technological mastery with quirky eclecticism is in evidence on this, his debut album: Naturally Artificial.

Made as a labour of love before being quickly snapped up by GUMUSIC, Kleijn’s; Naturally Artificial retains all the glory of a delicately constructed DJ set, a talent that Eelke is also held in high regard for. Shifting up and down gears with the grace of a royal chauffer, the talented young Rotterdam producer takes you from starting point to destination in style. Speeding through red lights on chunky paedophile house nuggets such as Ondine, then cruising to admire the scenery with Be Somewhere Else. Eelke finally puts the breaks on completely after Monsters Of The Deep, the album’s epic Moroder tinged, show-stopping, finale.

Haven't heard it yet, but not really anticipating much. Never really been a fan of albums by dance music producers.

If his past work is any indication, I'll definitely be picking this up.

well, considering the lack of samples and a rather flowery press release (there are a few on his myspace) it seems there is little else to talk about.

monsters of the deep is pretty nice, very versatile sound, very transitional track. could fit into a poker flat set, a prog set, or a tiesto set. the dark chord modulations are fantastic. i would play a less proggy version of that. he's used that bassline too often.

love the sunshine jones frozen reverberating stabs in the break, which he seems to make his own by transforming them into melody. maybe a dub version with a new bassline and more of those lush reverberating stabs would be nice

overall though it seems like the there was a well thought-out consideration of "what's in right now, and how can i make something that sounds like all of those"

early morning awakening is a little clunky but there are definitely some strong points. i wonder if he came up with the concept first or the music, because the title is very resonant with the music itself, the way that the sounds seem to awaken as the track progresses. Great progression/awakening really. Great mood-setter.

The only thing that bothers me is the weird gritty bass hook every other measure that starts on 3 - double 8th note then double 16ths. i know the importance of an obviously catchy part in a groove, but the sound is a little out of place with the rest of the track and thus repetitive and highly irritating.

Luigi's Magic Mushrooms makes me fucking melt in my pants. Amazing tune.

Niice! Been looking out for this. Haven't heard any samples yet, but knowing Eelke's excellent work, i'm sure this is a masterpiece of an album!

Just pressed play...very nice.

Ah-hah, I thought there must be a thread about this somewhere. I've not listened to any samples yet, but I'm fairly sure this will rate as an essential purchase anyway.
