Traktor and compression

I got Traktor to work on my system but there is compression on the main output. Is there a way to turn this off?

I don't like the way this compression sounds and hope I can turn it off somewhere

Hmm if I remember well there is a limiter on the master output, have you tried to turn it off? I think it's a button next to the master out level meters.

maybe you are just blowing past the limit of your soundcard - IE too loud to prevent clipping.

try turning down the output in the windows mixer... could help..

dunno much about traktor though.. hehe

*knows about Traktor*

Traktor DJ Studio (I take it thats whatur using...) does not have any form of compression when playing through the output, if you record with it, it will produce a wav file, and when u play through it normally it does it like any other piece of software would. However if you have the main volume (usually the master slider on the little yellow speaker, depending on ur soundcard) on full, and the traktor master volume on full that may cause problems. Also try putting your latency up. What sound card are u using?

The soundcard I use is an Creative Audigy platinum ex.
Why put the latency up?

I think there is some kind of limiting compression going on. There are small buttoms besides the master and monitor levels and when I turn them on and off the sound changes.

there are small buttons below the master & monitor? the reasons for lowering the latency is because sometimes while running DX with a too high latency can cause some abnormal sound probs, rather than just the skipping like usual. But i'm unsure of what u are talking about with the buttons and master, maybe u have a different version of Traktor (I have ver 1.06), i will take a look into it tho.

I have vertion 2.10.
Yes I worked the problem out. The buttons you talk about turn off the compression/ limiting. I also found that I have to close some programs that intervear with traktof like ICQ, and other internet stuff like a firewall.

Thanks for the help I go and listen how my mix turned out. I just did.
