JPop/KPop fans unite!
Who else is a fan of Pop from the far-east?
I'm really digging Misia right now. She has an amazing voice, the productions on her songs are top-notch, and there are even some good House remixes of her available.
Misia - Melody:
(the MAW remix of this track is amazing!)
There are some other female singers that I think are really good:
Utada Hikaru (she has a lot of good music out besides what was done for Kingdom Hearts.)
Ayumi Hamasaki (More for the production than the singing IMO. Her voice can get a little 'squeaky' on high notes)
Koda Kumi
Boa (depends on the track)
Bada (a good Korean singer. Hard to find her material [see below])
S.E.S (this is the group that Bada used to be in before they disbanded. Eugene and Shoo were the other two singers. Lots of catchy upbeat songs came from this group, but again their stuff is HTF)
Faye Wong (most know her from 'Eyes On Me', the love theme of Final Fantasy VIII, but she has a lot of good downtempo material as well. Chinese singer)
and some guys I would recommend:
Ken Hirai (really good R&B from this guy)
Gackt (Pop-Rock)
T.M Revolution
I'm having some trouble tracking down stuff by Bada, specifically her 1st and 2nd albums (oddly enough, her 3rd album can be bought off of iTunes). This is why I'm trying to track the older albums down:
Thanks in advance for the help. I'll try to help track down your HTF asian Pop as well
yeah im ganna have to pass on that one....weeaboo stuff isnt quite my thang yo
And the one with the unicorn+rainbow avatar is saying this...
Or is that a dog? What IS that? I'm not going to get any sleep tonight thanks to the confusion over your avatar...

Both J-Pop and K-Pop are shit. Now, J-Rock is a whole other ordeal. Sambomaster is great.
There's lots of love in this thread
But really, as a whole these artists make all of American pop look like crap.
Unless TA is thinking about the Eurodance stuff that Ishkur calls J-Pop... but I'm talking about R&B, Rock, Dance-Pop here. There are no hyper sugary vocals or crazy 180BPM melodies in the songs that I posted on page one...
hah yeah, we all know these elitist EDM whores secretly love the likes of P.Diddy, Britney Spears and Kanye West when nobody's looking and they'll make up random "oh i was drunk in an rnb club one night" stories to justify listening to the stuff and enjoying it
There is something about their language or their voice that makes me cringe.

They sure do!
So any help in tracking down those Bada albums?
Stop playing Maple Story people
Ehh, I don't like J-Pop. J-Buttrock is pretty much the best genre of music EVER... Nobuo Uematsu and Ian Gillan - Eternity
I'd rather jerk off with a hand full of broken glass then listen to that.
Absolutely love the japanese stuff, haven't listened too much of K stuff though.
Gives me the chills everytime..
