Moby
I have a few things. First, how many people like Moby anyway, including his "Play" album? I think his music fucking kicks ass no matter what you classify it as.
Anyway, so that brings me to the point, his new album is pretty good. I say this, because I got a live stream of it on Amazon if your pre-order it. The name of it is "18". Its pretty good... I dunno, I guess I can't give a "review" or anything.
Anyway, last, is the new Tiesto remix of Moby's We Are All Made of Stars. I think you can hear rips of it and stuff like that on radios and other places. I personally don't like it much, how bout the rest of you? Do you like it much? PLUR, laterz!!
Moby is alright....ive listend to some of play..some really good songs..and some really wierd ones...havent heard the new album yet
I find play a good cd to do my uni work to, dont know what it is but it is music that doent distract me at all
Jon
i was a fan of the play album. but 18 i just don't like. tracks seem to sound too close to eachother . while play had more range with the music.
btw there is a thread about the new album.

Play was OK...
it had a good feel to it, but it just isn't quality music.
(BTW: the Tiesto remix sucks IMO.)
my favorite moby song sadly is Body Rock.
Moby has some excellent songs, but at the same time i find it to calm and peaceful for me
moby
Well, he is a very good electronic producer with some great classic tracks but i woulnddt buy his albums.
we are all made of stars is crap.
play was cool about 1.5 years before it got popular.
moby is a crazy christian vegan.
reiterate above.
his old stuff was really cool.
i used to be obsessed with his music/
i personally like the tiestos non-vocal mix of we are all made of starts
I listened to the Tisto remix of "We are all made of stars" yesterday and I couldnt last more then a couple of minutes, it just sucked.
Is the rest of the album better then this lonely remix because If it aint, well then Moby needs to find his way back to the real stuff he used to produce.
I liked his older more electonic-sounding tracks such as "Hymn" and "Next is the E". I bought Play when "Porcelain" came out, and I figured with all those good tracks on one album, it had to be something special - which it was. i haven't listened to it for a year now, though.
I dl'ed 18 from Morhium Phase, but I really wasn't anywhere as good as Play. All the tracks does indeed sound the same, are even slower that those on Play and with way too much vocals for my tastes.
btw. the Tiesto remix didn't make things better
Man, "18" is HORRIBLE!
I mean, I didn't really like Play either... but this... this album...
IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME!!
Usually people want to progress with their sound... apparently not Moby. But hey, if it sells 10 million why change the formula?
Every damn tune is just a vocal ripped off from some 20's-30's tune with lame beats and cheap piano repeated over and over again...
There are much better albums (and tracks in general) in the Electronic music scene than Moby's Play... It's just too bad that other good albums don't get as much exposure... Altho I suppose it's still good thing that Moby cracked the mainstream... Any exposure electronic music can get all the better

I had a chance of listening to the album 18 yesterday and I am NOT impressed, not at all.
As some of you mentioned, some of the songs were almost exactly as some on the album "Play" (some also reassembled songs from Animalrights and Everything is Wrong) while some songs were just throughout BORING.
Like "We are all made from stars", if thats the best he can do.. well, then he should re-evaluate and do something else imho.
Too bad, I really like Mobys other albums.
But, everyone cant please everyone all the time.
Moby is gr8....I like his older stuff more then the new stuff....
Moby - Go....What a tune
Moby - Why does my heart feel so bad
Imo Everything is wrong is his best album....
Hymn is his best track
why does nobody ever mention that?
The best moby stuff is the classical stuff, and the chill stuff:
Alone
Great Lake
God Moving Over the Face of the Water
The Sun Never Stops Setting
Porcelain
Party Time
That's the awesome electronica right there.
AH MOBY...i love his stuff
though i must say he fuct up in southside...
why does my heart feel so bad..porcelain and his older stuff is good
though we're all made of stars is just a bit weird but im sure itll grow unto me...
eh, hes too bald for my taste
Mody has some nice songs like Porcelain !!
Imo he's a part of trance history so respect to this guy and same as my mate X-Dream I love his tracks Go and Why Does My Heart..
moby - we are all made out of stars (tiesto remix)
is a great track!
and many other tracks are great!
why does my heart feel so bad --> the katcha & original rock so bad!
moby - Feeling so Real (Westbam Mix) --> rocks!
moby - Go (Sasha & John Digweed Mix)
Moby - Hymn (European Mix) -->great!
moby - move (electro mix)
Moby - Natural Blues -->brilliant
Moby - Porcelain
Moby - Hymn
all great tracks imo
Aside from some stellar trax and albums, the guy is AMAZING live.. whether you ile him or not youd be impressed with his 'stage presence.' He really is a funny, down to earth guy and looks to be just out havn a good time. I lvoe his show and would do it again any time! Plus, during one of his older trance anthems in the middle of a build the 250 or so bright-ass yellow lights panned up the crowd and all you could see was the thousands of hands up in the air.. oh ive never felt so at peace and in harmony with everything around me. it was AMAZING!
cheers,
Marc
Wouldnt mind if he would leave politics and such out of his shows though. I have seen him twice. The first time he told us all to vote for Hillary(sp?) Clinton. The crowd boo'd. So he called us all misogonistic(sp?) fucks. He does have some funny insight but we werent there for a Rock the Vote show. By the way.. notice how often he uses that misogyny word too.. like in the eminem article it came up twice.
